대학생의 행동억제기질, 부모의 심리적 통제가 사회불안에 미치는 영향: 정서표현 양가성의 매개효과

The Effects of Behavioral Inhibition and Parental Psychological Control on Social Anxiety in University Students: the Mediating Effects of Ambivalence Over Emotional Expressiveness

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 사회불안에 영향을 미치는 행동억제기질, 부모의 심리적 통제와 정서표현 양가성 간의 구조적 관계를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 대학생 404명을 대상으로 행동억제기질, 부모의 심리적 통제, 정서표현 양가성, 사회불안 관련 설문을 실시하였다. 자료는 구조방정식 모형(Structural Equation Modeling)을 통해 분석하였고, 부트스트랩핑(bootstrapping) 방법을 사용하여 간접효과의 유의성 검증을 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 행동억제기질은 정서표현 양가성, 사회불안에 직접적인 영향을 미치고, 동시에 정서표현 양가성을 매개하여 사회불안에 간접적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 심리적 통제는 정서표현 양가성을 완전 매개하여 사회불안에 영향을 미치는 간접효과만 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 결과를 통해볼 때 사회불안에 영향을 미치는 생물학적 취약성, 환경적 요인과 더불어 심리적 요인으로서 정서표현 양가성이 치료적 장면에서 효과적으로 다루어질 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. 끝으로 본 연구의 제한점과 후속연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

This study aimed to determine the structural relationship between behavioral inhibition, parental psychological control and ambivalence over emotional expressiveness, which affect social anxiety of university students. A survey of 404 university students was analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling and the significance of indirect effects was verified by the bootstrap method. The results are as follows. First, behavioral inhibition had a direct effect on ambivalence over emotional expressiveness and social anxiety while it had an indirect effect on social anxiety, mediated by ambivalence over emotional expressiveness. Second, parental psychological control had an indirect effect on social anxiety, mediated by ambivalence over emotional expressiveness. In this context, the ambivalence of emotional expression can be treated as psychological factors in therapeutic situations. The limitations and future directions of the study are discussed.
