대학생이 인식한 ‘좋은 어머니’에 관한 주관성 연구

A Study on Subjectivity of ‘Good Mother’ as Perceived by University Students

본 연구는 대학생 자녀가 인식하는 ‘좋은 어머니’의 역할은 어떤 것이며, 어떤 존재인지 알아보기 위하여 Q방법론을 활용하여 인식의 유형화를 실시하였다. 심층면담과 문헌분석을 통해 40개의 진술문을 도출했으며, 서울에 거주하는 4년제 대학생 30명을 P표본(P-Sample)으로 선정하여 Q표본 분류(Q-Sorting)를 실시하였다. QUANL Program을 이용하여 주요인분석을 실시하고 그에 따른 관련 유형을 분류한 결과 네 가지의 유형으로 분류되었다. 유형 1은 자녀자체를 인정하고 존중하며 정서적 지지와 공감을 해주는 ‘아름드리나무형’, 유형 2는 자녀와 일정한 간격을 유지하면서 이해하고 공감하며 소통하는 ‘난롯불 경계유지형’, 유형 3은 사랑을 바탕으로 자녀를 바르게 훈육하고 리더해주는 ‘신사임당형’, 유형 4는 자녀와 공감을 바탕으로 경제적, 정서적 지원을 해주는 ‘어미새형’으로 명명하였다. 본 연구는 성인진입기 대학생들의 좋은 어머니에 대한 주관적 인식유형을 알아보고, 그 유형별 특성은 어떠한지 알아봄으로써 좋은 어머니의 역할과 특성을 심도 깊게 살펴보아, 대학생이라는 발달단계의 어머니에 대한 의미를 파악하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

In this study, a type of perception was implemented using Q methodology to find out what is a good mother as perceived by University students and what kind of existence it is. 40 statements through in-depth interviews and literature analysis and 30 university students living in Seoul were selected as P-Sample and Q-Sorting was conducted. The main factors were analyzed using the QUANL program and the related types were classified into four types. The first type is‘armful tree type, which recognizes, respects, and gives emotional support and empathy to children, The second type is‘keep fire boundary type, which understands, sympathizes, and communicates with children, The third type is‘Shin Saimdang type, which disciplines and leads children properly based on love, The fourth type is named ‘mother bird type, which provides psychological and economic support based on empathy with children. This study is meaningful in that it identifies the meaning of mothers according to emerging adult university students by looking into subjective perceptions of good mothers, have a look into their characteristics and understand the role of good mothers.
