장애전문어린이집 운영의 어려움과 지원 요구에 관한 원장의 인식

Director s Perception of the Difficulties on Management and Demands for Support of Daycare Centers for Children with Disabilities

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 장애전문어린이집 원장이 인식하는 운영상의 어려움과 지원에 대한 요구를 살펴보는 데 있다. 연구방법: U지역에 소재한 장애전문어린이집에 근무하는 다섯 명의 원장을 대상으로 개별 심층면담을 진행하였다. 수집된 면담자료는 반복적으로 읽어가면서 의미 단위로 추출하여 코딩하였으며, 각 코드 및 개념간의 관계를 분석하여 유사한 혹은 관련된 개념을 묶어 범주화하여 주제를 도출하였다. 연구결과: 장애전문어린이집 운영의 어려움은 ‘교사 재교육과 유아특수교사 배치의 어려움’, ‘특수보육서비스 실행의 어려움 및 원아 수 감소로 인한 어려움’, ‘부모 인식개선의 어려움’, ‘물리적 환경 구축 및 유지의 어려움’, ‘행정 및 재정적어려움’, ‘지역사회 관계에서의 어려움’ 등 6개의 범주가 도출되었다. 지원 요구는 ‘국가차원의 제도 마련 요구’, ‘내실 있는 운영에 대한 지원 요구’, ‘물리적 환경 개선에 대한 요구’, ‘행정 및 재정적 지원에 대한 요구’, ‘함께 살아가는 지역사회’ 등 5개의 범주로 관련 내용이 도출되었다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 장애전문어린이집의 질적 보육을 향상시키기 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore directors’ perception on difficulties of managing the daycare centers for children with disabilities and demands for support for the centers. Method: In-depth individual interviews were conducted with five directors of the daycare centers for children with disabilities in the U region. The researchers read the interview data repeatedly and open-coded according to semantic units. By analyzing the relationship between each code and concept, similar or related concepts were grouped together and categorized to derive significant topics. Results: Under the difficulties for management, 6 categories were derived from the interview: difficulties in teacher training and employment of early childhood special education teachers, difficulties in implementation of special child care services and reduction in the number of children, difficulties in improving parental awareness, difficulties in building and maintaining a physical environment, administrative and financial difficulties, and difficulties in community relations. Under the demands for support, 5 categories were derived from the interviews: demand for system development at the national level, demand for substantial support on management, demand for improving the physical environment, demand for administrative and financial support, and community living together. Conclusion: On the basis of findings, the implications for improving the quality of care of daycare centers for children with disabilities were discussed.
