진로교육의 쟁점, 발전방향, 역할에 관한 질적 연구

A Qualitative Study on the Issues, Development Directions, and Roles of Career Education : Perspectives from Career Guidance Teachers of Secondary Education

우리나라 중등 진로교육은 2011년 진로진학상담교사 중등교원 자격 신설과 2015년「진로교육법」제정을 거쳐 약 10년의 역사를 갖고 있다. 그동안 중등교육 현장의 진로진학상담교사들은 우리나라 진로교육에 대한 다양한 문제점을 지적하고 개선방향에 대해 목소리를 높여왔다. 이 연구는 현재 진로교육의 문제점, 발전방향, 그리고 구성원의 역할에 대해서 종합적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 지역의 중등 진로교육전문가 16인을 대상으로 이메일을 통한 의견을 수집하였다. 연구진은 질적분석 방법인 주제분석을 통해 문제인식, 발전방향, 역할도출이라는 범주에 따라 다양한 주제들을 분석 및 정리하였다. 문제인식으로는 진로교육의 목표, 진로교사, 학교 및 사회제도, 학부모, 학생 본인의 다양한 문제들이 발견되었다. 교육내용의 발전방향으로는 융복합역량, 진로유연성, 인성, 기업가정신을 제시하였고, 교육방법의 발전방향으로는 에듀테크 활용 및 AR/VR활용 교육을 언급하였다. 역할도출 측면에서는 학교현장과 진로교사, 대학 및 지자체로 구분하여 다양한 역할들을 제시하였다. 이 연구는 지역발전과 지역 학생들의 진로교육을 위해 학교-대학-지자체 연계 발전방향을 모색했다는 것에 의의가 있다.

Secondary career education in Korea has a history of about 10 years after the establishment of the career guidance teacher as a qualification of secondary school teacher in 2011 and the enactment of the 「Career Education Act」 in 2015. Until now, career guidance teachers in secondary education have pointed out various issues with career education in Korea and raised their voices on the direction of improvement. This study attempted to comprehensively explore the current problems of career education, the direction of development, and the roles of members. Sixteen regional secondary career education experts’ opinions were collected through e-mail. The research team analyzed and organized various themes according to the categories of problem recognition, development direction, and member roles through thematic analysis, a qualitative analysis method. As for problem recognition, various problems of career education goals, career guidance teachers, school and social systems, parents, and students themselves were found. Convergence competencies, career flexibility, personality, and entrepreneurship were suggested as the direction of development of the educational content, and education using Edutech and AR/VR were indicated as the direction of development of education methods. In terms of member roles, various roles were presented by dividing them into the schools, career guidance teachers, universities, and local governments. This study is meaningful in that it sought the direction of the linkage of schools-universities-local governments for regional development and career education of local students.
