유아 문화예술교육 프로그램 효과에 대한 메타분석

A Meta-Analysis on the Effects of Early Childhood Culture and Arts Education Program

본 연구는 유아 문화예술교육 프로그램의 효과를 분석하기 위해 2009년부터 2020년 9월까지 한국연구재단 등재(후보)학술지에 게재된 논문을 대상으로 체계적 문헌고찰 및 메타분석 연구방법을 활용하였다. 연구설계는 PRISMA guideline을 기본으로 하였고, 55개의 연구문헌에 대한 효과크기를 EXCEL과 R 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 프로그램 유형은 장르통합 문화예술교육이 가장 많고, 프로그램의 효과검증은 창의성과 사회·정서성, 예술적 능력의 차이가 분석된 경우가 많았다. 둘째, 유아 문화예술교육 프로그램의 전체 효과크기는 1.72였고, 창의성은 1.69, 예술적 창의성은 1.63, 예술적 능력은 1.65, 인성은 2.26, 사회·정서성은 2.20, 수·과학능력은 2.0으로 효과크기가 모두 매우 큰 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유아 문화예술교육 프로그램효과를 높인 조절변인으로는 문화예술교육 유형 중에서 단일장르나 타장르통합보다는 타교과통합 유형일 때, 그리고 유아연령이 4-5세 혼합연령보다는 5세 대상인 경우로 나타났으며, 회기유형에 따라서는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구에서 분석된 문헌에 대한 질 평가 수준이 낮았다는 점을 고려할때 신뢰할만한 연구 결과를 위해 추후에는 대상 문헌의 질 평가수준에 따라 효과크기를 비교할 필요가 있음을 제안하였다.

This study used a systematic literature review and meta-analysis method for research published between 2009 and September, 2020 in order to analyze the effects of early childhood culture and arts education program. As results, the overall effect size of early childhood culture and arts education was 1.72 and the effect size for creativity was 1.69, artistic creativity 1.63, artistic ability 1.65, personality 2.26, socio-emotional development 2.20, and math & science ability 2.0 and all were very large based on Cohen s effect size. Next, as the modulating variables that increased the effect of early childhood culture and arts education were the education type integrated with other subjects rather than the education type of single genre or the education type integrated with other genre of arts among the types of culture and arts education, and the case of the children’s age of 5 years rather than the mixed age of 4-5 years. Considering the fact that the quality evaluation level of the literature analyzed in this study was low, for reliable research results, it is necessary to compare the effect size according to the quality evaluation level of the literature in the future.
