The interrelatedness of the content and the process

본 연구에서는 게슈탈트치료의 핵심개념인 콘텐트와 프로세스 두 개념을 자세히 구분하고, 두 개념이 어떻게 서로 연관되는지, 또 어떻게 서로 영향을 주고받는지에 대해 살펴보았다. 다음으로 심리적 장애의 원인이 되는 경직된 콘텐트를 변환시킬 수 있는 6가지 전략들을 소개하였고, 이어서 마찬가지로 문제가 되는 패턴화된 프로세스를 바꿀 수 있는 6가지 전략들을 소개하였다. 이 과정에서 저자는 콘텐트와 프로세스의 상호작용을 도식화하여 각각 x좌표와 y좌표로 표시하고, 마음자세전략이 두 변인을 매개하는 과정을 함께 사분면 그래프로 표시한 도구를 개발하여 소개하였다. 콘텐트와 프로세스를 전환하는 전략들의 공통점을 논의하였고, 이는 콘텐트를 미분하여 프로세스로 바꾸는 것임을 밝혔다.

This article discusses the difference between the concept ‘content’ and ‘process’, both of which are critical in Gestalt therapy, and the way how they are related with and influence each other. As the next step, 6 strategies of changing the rigid contents together with 6 strategies of transforming the patternized processes respectively were introduced. The author has developed and introduces an instrument that schematizes interactions between the content and the process using x-coordinate and y-coordinate respectively, and quadrant graph as well that lists mind set strategies which mediate between the content and the process. The common strategy adopted by both the content changing strategies and process transforming strategies is being discussed, which is differentiation of the content into the process.
