A Case Study Of Sandplay Therapy For The Children Of Alcoholics

본 연구에서는 알코올중독자의 자녀가 경험하는 역기능적 심리, 사회적인 문제의 감소와 긍정적인 자아정체성의 형성에 모래놀이치료가 미치는 효과성에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 대상아동은 13세 여아로 알코올중독자의 자녀이며 부에 의한 아동학대로 인하여 원가정에서 분리되어 시설보호 되었다. 내담아동은 높은 불안, 낮은 자존감, 학교부적응 및 또래관계의 어려움을 호소하였다. 총 22회기의 상담이 진행되었으며 이 중 11회기의 모래놀이치료가 실시되었다. 모래놀이치료의 효과성을 살펴보고자 SCT(문장완성검사), HTP(그림검사), KFD(가족화 검사), KSD(학교장면화 검사)가 사전·사후 검사로 실시되었다. 연구 결과를 보면, 내담아동은 무의식에 억압되었던 부정적인 감정을 모래상자에 표출하였고 이로 인해 내적 에너지 수준도 증가하였다. 일상생활에서 타인과 관계하고자 하는 욕구 및 자신과 주변 환경에 대해 정확하게 탐색하려는 욕구의 증가도 관찰되었다. 이는 내담아동의 자신 및 환경에 대한 인식이 확장되고 자아존중감의 향상을 보여주는 근거로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 모래놀이치료가 알코올중독자의 자녀들의 낮은 자아존중감을 향상시키고 내면의 부정적인 감정을 표출할 수 있는 기회를 제공하여 이들이 겪고 있는 심리, 사회적 문제를 감소시키는 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 결과를 제시하였다.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of sand play therapy for the children of alcoholics on reducing their negative social and emotional problems and building positive slef-esteem. The client of this study was a thirteen years old girl who is the children of alcoholics. She was physically and emotionally abused by her father and protected at a facility. Her presenting complaints were anxiety, low self-esteem, difficulties in school and peer relationships. A total 22 sessions of counseling were conducted and 11 sessions were sand play therapy among them. In order to testify the effectiveness of sand play therapy, pre-post psychological tests which were SCT, HTP, KFD, and KSD conducted. During the therapeutic process, the client expressed her negative feelings on the sand tray and the level of her energy increased. As a result, her desires to be conscious about herself and her environment and her attempts to make relationships with others were increased. They are considered as the evidences that her consciousness about herself and her environment was expanded and her self-esteem was increased. The significant of this study is that sand play therapy can contribute to the children of alcoholic who has social and psychological difficulties to establish positive self-esteem.
