이 연구의 목적은 ｢상업 경제｣ 교과서의 탐구 성향 정도를 분석하여, 탐구적인 ｢상업 경제｣ 교과서 개발과 관련된 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 이 연구는 Romey가 제시한 교재 분석 방법을 활용하여 2015 개정 교육과정에 근거하여 개발된 ｢상업 경제｣ 8종의 교과서의 탐구 성향 정도를 분석하였다. 교과서 본문 내용, 그림과 도표, 학생의 참여 활동, 장의 끝부분에 있는 질문에 대한 탐구 성향이 적절한가를 정량적으로 분석하였다. 본문 내용에 대한 탐구성향은 교과서 1종을 제외한 7종의 교과서에서 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 그림과 도표에 대한 탐구성향지수는 8종의 교과서의 전체 평균이 0.337로 나왔는데, 이는 Romey 기준(0.4 < F.D. ≦ 1.5)에 미치지 못하는 수치이다. 따라서 탐구 성향이 낮다고 평가할 수 있다. 학생의 참여 활동에 대한 탐구성향지수는 8종 교과서 전체 평균이 0.477로 나왔는데, 이는 Romey 기준(0.4 < A ≦ 1.5)에 속하는 수치이다. 따라서 탐구 성향이 적절하다고 평가할 수 있다. 단원의 절이나 장의 끝부분에 있는 질문 분석에 대한 탐구성향지수는 교과서 1종을 제외한 7종의 교과서에서 Romey 기준(0.4 < Q ≦ 1.5)을 충족하는 것으로 나타나 탐구 성향이 적절하다고 평가할 수 있다. 연구결과에 기초하여, ｢상업 경제｣ 교과서의 개선 방향을 다음과 같이 제언한다. 첫째, 탐구 성향이 가장 낮은 것으로 나타난 본문 구성을 설명위주에서 탐구활동 위주로 개선할 필요가 있다. 단편적인 개념을 설명하는 식으로 구성된 본문은 학생들의 탐구력을 신장하는데 크게 도움을 주지는 못할 것이다. 탐구능력이 더욱 요구되는 미래사회에 필요한 인재를 육성하기 위해서는 향후 본문 집필시, 보다 창의적이고 탐구적으로 지식을 전달할 수 있도록 본문을 구성할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 본문에 있는 그림과 도표가 바람직한 시각 자료가 되기 위해서는 시각 자료가 사실의 설명에 대한 수단으로 사용될 뿐만 아니라 학생들에게 학습 동기를 자극하고 탐구 활동을 유도할 수 있도록 개발되어야 한다.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the extent of the Inquiry Tendencies of the commercial economy textbook and derive implications for developing a commercial economy textbook. The study analyzed the extent of the Inquiry Tendencies of eight types of commercial economy textbooks developed on the basis of the 2015 revised curriculum through the Romey’s Inquiry Techniques. The results of the study are the following: First, the Text analysis rating index(T) for the contents of the text was found to have a non-exploratory tendency in seven types of textbooks, excluding one. Second, the Figure and Diagram analysis(F.D.) showed that the overall average of eight types of textbooks was 0.337, lower than the Romey standard (0.4 < F.D. ≦ 1.5), but closer to 0.4, the minimum criterion for determining exploratory tendencies. Third, the Activities index(A) for students participation activities was found to have an exploratory tendency, with the overall average index of the eight textbooks being 0.477 and belonging to the Romey standard (0.4 < A ≦ 1.5). Fourth, the rating the Question at the ends(Q) belongs to the Romey standard (0.4 < Q ≦ 1.5) in seven types of textbooks, excluding one, and has an exploratory tendency. The followings are to be improved in order to develop the commercial economy textbook which has an exploratory tendency. First, the contents of the text, which appears to be the lowest index, needs to be upgraded. The contents of the text, which describes the piecemeal concepts, will not greatly help the students in developing the ability of exploration. Second, the picture and diagrams in the textbook should be developed to encourage students to stimulate their learning motivation and induce exploration activities. This study analyzed the tendency of exploration in high school commercial economy textbook using Romey technique. However, it is difficult to generalize into the entire commercial economy textbook based on the analysis of each of the suspension sources that can represent the total six units. Therefore, it will also be necessary for future studies to analyze the entire contents and identify the exploratory tendencies of commercial economy textbooks.
