교도소 청소년 재소자를 위한 연극치료 후 글쓰기에 나타난 언어적 특성

Linguistic Characteristics in Writing after Dramatherapy for Youth in Juvenile Detention Center

본 연구는 교도소 청소년 재소자를 대상으로 연극치료를 실시한 후 주제 글쓰기에 나타난 언어적 특성을 분석함으로써 연극치료의 효과를 탐색하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 교도소에서 주관하는 활동에 참여 신청을 하지 않은 12명의 청소년 재소자를 대상으로 17주에 걸쳐 주 1회(회기당 120분)의 연극치료를 실시하였다. 치료 마지막 주에 연극치료 참여 청소년과 함께 연극치료에는 참여하지 않았으나 다른 활동(음악 8명, 제빵 10명)에 자발적으로 참여한 18명의 청소년을 대상으로 청소년기 가장 중요한 요소 중 하나인 ‘친구’를 주제로 글쓰기를 실시한 후 글쓰기 자료에 나타난 집단 간 언어 특성을 분석하여 비교하였다. 글쓰기 분석을 위한 변인으로는 정서 상태를 반영하는 형용사의 사용빈도와 다양도를 분석하였다. 아울러 글의 길이와 어휘다양도를 함께 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 세 집단 간 변인의 차이는 유의했다. 글의 길이, 어휘 다양도, 형용사 사용빈도 및 형용사 다양도 모두 연극치료에 참여한 집단에서 가장 높았다. 이러한 연구 결과는 연극치료가 언어표현의 활성화에 기여할 수 있다는 점을 보여주며 향후 형용사 지표를 연극치료 효과 평가 시 연계시킬 수 있다는 가정 하에 연극치료 전후 평가 도구 개발을 위한 하나의 기초 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

This study aims to analyze linguistic characteristics in writing data of the topic Friends of the participants for exploring the effects of dramatherapy for the delinquents in juvenile detention center inmates. We have done dramatherapy once a week for 120 minutes for 17 weeks for 12 youths in a youth detention center. These youths did not participate in any activities. Eighteen youths participated in musical activities (n=8) and baking activities(n=10). We compared language characteristics such as text length, lexical diversity, and adjective use(adjective frequency and adjective diversity) among three groups. As a result, text length, lexical diversity, and use of adjectives were significantly different among the three groups. In the group of dramatherapy, the text length was longer and lexical diversity was more remarkable than other groups. The adjective frequency was more higher and diverse in dramatherapy group than the other groups. These findings imply that theatrical therapy can contribute to the development of language expression, and can be used as a basic data for the evaluation before and after dramatherapy using linguistic index.
