법학전문대학원에서 민법 교육의 구성과 운영

The Constitution and Operation in Civil Law Study of Law School System - Focusing on the Korea University School of Law -

With the introduction of law school system, the existing legal education is faced by systematic change. Korea University School of Law(hereinafter KULS ) is trying to improve the constitution and operation of the curriculum in civil law. First of all, to resolve the fundamental problems in the existing civil law education -deficit of practical dispute resolution ability due to the excessive use of abstract legal theory, the isolation among the lessons in legal study-, a variety of ideas was attempted. For example, the constitution of major sections in civil law will follow actual connection with real life and it means the partial deviation from the Pandekten system in KULS. For the purpose of the success of law school system, we must execute more efficient operation through the improvement of teaching methods. Various tryouts of teaching methods such as peer tutoring and team teaching would achieve the results more effectively. KULS divided the civil law curriculum into 2 stage; level 1 is about basic understanding of civil law and level 2 is about further practice with case law study. With respect to the operation of school work, we expect more stimulus and incentive through peer tutoring which has been used successfully for several years. Last but not least, I would like to refer to the material which would be used in law school course. We need a new materials for instruction that facilitate the understanding of the basic principle and major doctrines in civil law. According to this, we take a measure to meet the situation.
