Study of the Correlation between University Education Service Environment and Academic Motivation

본 연구는 대학의 교육서비스 환경이 학생들의 학습동기에 영향을 미치는 주요 예측변인을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 충북권 소재 대학에 소속된 재학생 339명이다. 대학의 교육서비스 환경이 학습동기에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위한 다중회귀분석과 교육서비스 환경을 이용하는 수요자들의 만족도 선택 결정의 인식에 따른 하위 요인들과의 관계를 확인하기 위한 대응일치분석 방법을 사용하였다. 연구 결과, 대학의 교육서비스 환경과 학습동기 간에는 유의미한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났고, 대학의 교육서비스 환경을 이용하는 학생들의 인식은 대부분 긍정적으로 작용하고 있지만 개선이 필요한 부분(발전적 사회인 양성의 신뢰감, 대학의 복지 시설 충족, 대학의 약속이행, 교직원의 용모, 공지된 학사일정의 진행) 역시 존재하는 것으로 나타났다. 대학 교육서비스의 전략적 운영과 수요자 중심의 맞춤형 프로그램 개발 및 교육 시스템 구축을 위한 지속적인 관심과 노력이 필요할 것으로 보인다.

This study aims to reveal the major variables predicting the impact of university education service environment on students’ academic motivation. This study was conducted with 339 students enrolled in a university located in the Chungbuk area. The multiple regression analysis method was used to analyze the impact of the university education service environment on academic motivation, and the correspondence analysis method was used to check the relationships with sub-factors according to the satisfaction and perceptions of career selection and decision of the consumers who use the education service environment. The results of study are as follows. First, it turned out that there was a significant correlation between the university education service environment and academic motivation. Second, as for the perceptions of the students who were using the university education service environment, it acted positively, overall; however, there were also parts that would need improvements (Trust in nurturing developmental members of society, satisfaction of university welfare facilities, the fulfillment of the university’s promises, the faculty members’ appearance, and progress of the announced academic schedule).
