중학생의 자아존중감이 다문화감수성에 미치는 영향: 공동체의식과 인성의 이중매개효과

The Effects of Middle School Students Self-esteem on Multicultural Sensitivity: Double-mediating Effects of Community Awareness and Personality

이 연구는 중학생의 다문화감수성, 공동체의식, 인성과 다문화감수성에 대한 변인간의 관계를 밝히는데 그 목적이 있다. 다문화사회가 요구하는 인간은 다양한 문화를 이해할 수 있는 폭 넓은 역량이 필요하다. 전북지역 중학생 375명을 대상으로 한 설문 조사 결과 중학생의 자아존중감은 다문화감수성(p<.05), 공동체의식(p<.001), 인성요인(p<.05)에 있어서 유의하였다. 그리고 인성은 다문화감수성에 직접적인 영향을 보였으나 공동체의식은 인성을 매개로 다문화감수성에 유의하였다. 본 연구에서 중학생의 자아존중감은 다문화감수성에 직접적인 영향은 낮았다. 그러나 자아존중감은 공동체의식과 인성요인을 매개로 다문화감수성에 대한 영향력이 높게 나타났다. 이로부터 다문화사회에서 중학생의 다문화감수성 증진을 위해서는 인성과 공동체의식을 위한 교육이 필요함을 알 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between variables of middle school students multicultural sensitivity, community consciousness, personality and multicultural sensitivity. Human beings demanded by a multicultural society must have a broad capacity to understand the culture. The subject of the study was based on a survey of 375 middle school students in Jeonbuk region. As a result of the study, the self-esteem of middle school students was significant in multicultural sensitivity (p<.05), community consciousness (p<.001), and personality (p<.05). In addition, personality had a direct influence on multicultural sensibility, but community consciousness paid attention to multicultural sensibility through personality as a medium. In this study, the self-esteem of middle school students had no direct effect on multicultural sensitivity. However, self-esteem had an influence on multicultural sensitivity through community consciousness and personality factors. Therefore, in order to increase the multicultural sensitivity of middle school students in a multicultural society, education for character and community consciousness was necessary.
