공주 송산리 고분군의 지형 환경과 입지적 특징 −백제 왕릉 입지와의 비교를 통한 검토−

Topographical environment and locational features of the tomb cluster in Songsan-ri, Gongju －Review through comparison with the location of the royal tomb of Baekje－

송산리 고분군은 왕릉 조성 지역으로서 인근 왕성(공산성)과의 관계로 보아 백제 웅진 시기에 조영된 능원과 능역의 전체 모습을 볼 수 있는 곳이다. 하지만 일제 강점기 이후 송산리 고분군과 주변 지형은 산림 벌목과 경작지 개간, 건물 축조 등으로 인해 지형 훼손이 많이 이루어졌다. 하지만 관련한 고고학적 조사가 미미하여 송산리 고분군이 지닌 왕릉으로서의 입지 특성을 명확히 하기 어려웠다. 따라서 본고에서는 과거 지형의 모습을 파악하고 여기에 현재의 지리 지형적 환경 연구, 한성과 사비시기 왕릉 입지 지형 자료와 입지 연구성과 등을 검토하여 송산리 고분군의 입지적 특징을 파악하고자 하였다. 송산리 고분군은 중국 남조의 영향을 받은 풍수지리적 모습을 갖춘 지형을 우선 선택하였고, 송산의 여러 분지된 지형을 적절하게 공간적으로 활용하는 모습을 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 모습은 백제 각 시기의 왕릉급 고분 입지, 인근의 왕도로서 공산성과 추정 대통사지 지역과의 관계를 종합비교해 보면 그 입지적 특징을 더욱 명확하게 볼 수 있다. 즉 송산리 고분군은 송산이라는 지형 자체를 묘역 전체로 구성하였고 능원의 성격으로서 능침과 제향, 진입 공간 등의 공간 배치를 지형에 맞추어 조성하였던 것으로 판단된다. 특히 송산리 고분군은 한성기와 사비기의 왕릉 입지로 변화하는 과정에 나타나는 과도기적 형태의 풍수지리적 지형 모습을 갖추고 있다. 또한 인근의 왕도와 추정 대통사지 지역 모두를 아우를 수 있는 도성 공간의 장소로서 현재의 위치를 선택한 것으로 파악된다. 당연 이들은 서로 유기적으로 연결되면서 경관의 장소적 의미가 확립되어 갔을 것이다.

The Songsan-ri tomb is considered to be a place where there is a high probability of the existence of facilities related to the tombs built during the Woongjin period of Baekje, due to the existence of the royal tombs of Baekje and surrounding ruins such as the communist castle. However, after the Japanese colonial period, the terrain surrounding Songsan Rigogun was a constant loss of terrain due to deforestation, cultivation of farmland, and construction of buildings. Therefore, by analyzing the topographical approach and the current geographic topographical environment and comparing it with the various data left behind, the location characteristics of Songsan-ri Tumulus Cluster were materialized. Songsan-ri’s burial mound was selected from the viewpoint of Feng Shui geography influenced by Namjo, and it seems that it utilizes several branched terrains centered around Songsan. The location characteristics of Songsan-ri’s burial mounds become clearer as a result of understanding the relationship between the various ruins of the nearby royal roads and Gongju city, especially the estimated Daetongsaji. The arrangement of ridges, scents, and entry spaces as ridges was arranged in accordance with the shape of the terrain. In other words, Songsan Rigobungun selected the current location as a terrain that could encompass both the nearby royal roads and the estimated Daetongsa Temple along with the selection of Feng Shui geographic location, and they are thought to have formed a landscape that is organically connected to each other.
