박물관의 다층적 자료수집 방법에 대한 연구 - 소사희망원 생활공간 자료수집 과정을 중심으로 -

A Study on the Holistic Approach to the Acquisition of Museum’s Archives - Architectural Reconstitution of Oral History -

이 논문은 박물관 자료수집의 방법으로서 구술사 자료의 수집과정과 수집된 구술사 자료에 대한 건축적 검증과정을 다루고 있다. 본 연구는 소사희망원(Sosa Opportunity Center)의 생활공간을 복원한 전 과정을 기술함으로써 펄벅기념관 관련 역사적 자료를 어떻게 수집할 수 있는가? 에 대한 하나의 방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 혼혈인들의 생활공간인 소사희망원 공간에 대한 자료수집 과정은 사진 및 도면자료의 수집, 혼혈인 인터뷰를 통한 구술자료의 수집, 구술자료 현장 스케치 작업, 공간구조도 제작, 건축적 합리성 검토 및 건축도면 제작 과정 등을 포함한다. 한편, 연구과정에서 수집된 구술사 자료는 인터뷰 대상자에 따라 서로 다르게 기억되는 부분이 존재하였는데, 본 연구에서는 박물관 수집자료 중 구술사 자료가 가지고 있는 신뢰도의 문제를 극복하기 위해 건축적 합리성을 토대로 수집된 구술사 자료의 신뢰성을 검증하고자 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 활용된 자료수집 방법 중 사진자료, 구술자료, 도면자료, 건축도면 자료 등은 새로운 정보가 취득되는 과정 속에서 상호 반복적으로 교차하면서 수집되었으며, 수집된 자료들은 건축학적 고증을 통해 구술사 자료의 합리성을 검토하였다. 그리고 이를 통해 소사희망원내 혼혈인들의 생활공간을 재구성하였다.

In regard to museum’s original function, acquisition, this case study restores living spaces of the Sosa Opportunity Center through acquisition and verification of oral history. The study intends to suggest a method of collecting contents about specific history and memories connecting the author and Bucheon, i.e. historical records related to the memorial hall. Acquisition of oral history related to the living spaces of the mixed blood was accompanied by the process of acquiring pictures and floor plans, and oral data from interviews with mixed-bloods, drawing field sketches based on oral records, producing spatial structure maps, reviewing architectural rationality, producing blueprints and others. Oral history acquired in this process, however, revealed that interviewees had differing memories. To solve this reliability issue of oral records out of materials collected by museum, this research strived to verify their reliability based on architectural rationality. Of data acquisition methods adopted by this research, particularly pictures, oral data, floor plans and blueprints were collected in the order of need in the course of acquiring new pieces of information on a repetitive basis, and finally the acquired materials restored living spaces of mixed-bloods in the Sosa Opportunity Center after architectural ascertainment.
