융합형 세계시민교육이 고등학생의 세계시민성에 미치는 효과

An Effects of the Convergent Global Citizenship Education on High School Students’ Global Citizenship

본 연구는 지속가능한 사회를 지향하는 세계시민교육과 다양한 체험이 가능한 예술교육이 융합된 교육의 효과를 다차원으로 분석하고 세계시민성의 변화와 성장을 확인하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 융합형 세계시민교육 참여 고등학생들을 대상으로 진행한 설문조사와 자기성찰 기록을 활용하였으며, 교육효과 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 융합형 세계시민교육의 참여는 고등학생들의 개방적 사고, 공감소통, 자기조절력 성장에 유의한 효과가 있었다. 둘째, 학생들은 융합형 세계시민교육을 통해 자신의 존재에 대한 탐색과 성찰의 시간을 가졌는데, 특히, 친구와의 관계 안에서 자신의 존재에 대해 알아차리고 생각해 보는 경험이 되었다. 셋째, 어린왕자 주제의 음악극을 친구들과 협력하여 완성하는 과정에서 연대감과 책임감의 가치를 인식하였다. 넷째, 융합형 세계시민교육의 참여는 그동안 학교교육에서 느껴보지 못한 새롭고 즐거운 경험인 것으로 관찰되었다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 본 연구는 고등학생이 전 지구적 관점에서 사회변화에 대응할 수 있도록 그들의 요구와 특성이 융합된 교육 실천을 제안하였다.

This study aims to analyze the effect of a music-based convergent global citizenship education on high school students’ global citizenship. For this, a series of questionnaires and self-reflective writings were analyzed using the repeated measures analysis of variance and network text analysis. The analysis revealed the following. First, participation in the convergent global citizenship education showed significant, positive effects on increased open awareness, sympathy, communication, and self-regulation among the students. Second, students stated having time to explore and reflect on themselves through convergent education, recognizing a more solidified relationship, and increased responsibility in social situations. Third, researchers observed that students had a new and enjoyable experience that they could not experience in schools. Based on these findings, this study suggested a convergent global citizenship education that can meet high school students’ needs and characteristics to help them better address future social challenges based on global perspectives.
