The Revision of the Korean Sign Language Online Dictionary -Focusing on the Revision in 2020

이 연구는 2020년에 진행된 <한국수어사전>의 거시구조와 미시구조 정비의 내용을 알아보는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 이번 정비는 <한국수어사전>이라는 이름에도 불구하고 한국어를 표제어로 삼고 수어에 대한 정보는 형태 정보로만 국한되어 농사회로부터 오랫동안 문제로 제기된 부분을 개편한 것이다. 사전 개편은 다음과 같이 이루어졌다. 첫째, 사전의 거시구조를 개편하였다. 기존에는 한국어 표제어를 중심으로 한국어 표제어의 뜻풀이와 용례 그리고 한국수어 대응 표현이 제시되었다. 이 구조에서 발생하는 여러 문제를 바로 잡고자 사전의 표제어를 한국수어로 교체하고 기존의 한국어 표제어는 한국수어에 대응되는 복수의 대응 표현으로 제시하였다. 정비의 결과로 3,819개의 한국수어 표제어가 남게 되었다. 둘째, 수어 표제어 영상 정비, 한국어 정보 삭제, 한국어 대응표현 제시 그리고 한국수어 용례 제시로 미시구조를 정비하였다. 수어에 대해서는 형태 정보만 제공되고 있었는데, 미시구조를 바꿈으로써 한국어 대응 표현과 수어 용례로 수어의 의미와 용법을 제시할 수 있게 되었다. <한국수어사전>의 구조 개편으로 사전의 신뢰도를 높일 수 있을 것이라 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to find out about the contents of the macro- and microstructure revision of the <Korean Sign Language Online Dictionary> conducted in 2020. Although the dictionary is called <Korean Sign Language Dictionary>, the headwords used to be in Korean and the only information on the signs in Korean Sign Language (KSL) was limited to the description of its form. This problem has been raised by the deaf society for a long time. The revision of the dictionary contains the following. First, the macrostructure of the dictionary was reorganized. In the past, the headwords of the dictionary were Korean, and therefore definitions, examples and equivalents were focusing on Korean headwords. To correct various problems arising from this structure, the headwords were replaced with KSL signs, and the existing Korean headwords have been presented as equivalents corresponding to the KSL headword. As a result of the revision 3,819 KSL headwords remained. Second, the microstructure was revised by correcting the KSL movies, deleting information about Korean, presenting Korean equivalents, and presenting KSL example sentences. Before the revision, only the form of the KSL signs was presented, but by reorganizing the microstructure it became possible to present the meaning and usage of sign language with Korean equivalent expressions and sign language usage examples. It is expected that the reliability of the dictionary will be increased through this maintenance that accommodates the problems that have been raised for a long time. In addition, information about the meaning on KSL signs is newly presented, which is meaningful in that it can function as a dictionary that helps users to understand sign language and at the same time help users to learn sign language.
