Problems of Social Education in Life-long Education

Since paul Lengrand’s advocating the Life-long Education, in International Committee for the Advance of Adult Education in UNESCO in 1965, this Life-long Education has been the important Challenge to School Education. Social education from the view of Life-long Education means the education for out-of-School youth and adult, and is necessary in changing the out-look of view, in modifying, the way of doing as well as Acquiring the new knowledge and the technique in the Course of rapid Social change. From this necessity, the confronting questions of Social education of our country, can be summariged lik bollowings; 1) The over-expection and prejudice about School education must be removed- It is the important question for the development of social Education to realize that the actual function and role of education is in the social education, and that the necessity and role of social eolucation is more important than those of social education. 2) In the research of social education, it is the question that should be solved with the mutual supplement in theory and practice. Sociol education must emphasize the practice, the adaptation and the practical use rather than the theory. And, also the relation between theory and practice, must be syntheized and supplemented mutually. The leader and manager of social education, have the question to synth-ersize the theory and the practice. 3) Another question for the development of social eolucation is to realize that adults have the possibility of studying. The possibility does not fall in according to the being older. The growth of study-motivation, the improvemeut of environmeut, the necessity of use, Can make the member of education expect the effect of studying. 4) The production of proper educational programe and insurance of vast resources for the practice of this programe, is the important tasks a varietyof contents and methods, the insurance of human and material resources and the aid of government, are absolutely necessary. 5) It is one of the questions, that government should maks political efforts for the effective practice of social education. Government needs to carry powerfully out the traing of leader. 6) The performance of professor’s serviceable role and research of university education, is one of ehe tasks for the research and developmeut of social education. Of course, the University extension are included. 7) The research of sociol education must Continue to be strengthend still more. An effective research is able to be Carred out without trial and error. And for this research, the systemical and financial support is demanded. The upright enforcement of social education will, there by, be possible. 8) The establishment of legal system for social education, and effective management of socio-educational administration, must be solved practically as one of the tasks. 9) The leader of social education must be cultivated properly, be made the best of. Especially to leader of social Education, characteristic, leader-like temperament is more neccessary than physical, economic, administrative ability. 10) The final question is that the Co-operation and Unification between the social education and that of school, must be achieved. This means the matter of social Educotion in school, of the use of school’s human and moterial resource in school organization, of Collabation and synthersis between school education and social education.
