시각장애인들의 점자 편의시설에 대한 요구 조사

An Investigation of the Needs for the Braille Convenience Facilities among Persons with Visual Impairments

연구 목적: 이 연구의 목적은 점자 편의시설에 대한 시각장애인들의 요구를 조사하여 향후 점자 친화적인 생활환경 조성을 위한 개선 방안을 제시하는 것이었다. 연구 방법: 이 연구는 전국의 시각장애인 400명을 대상으로 「장애인 등 편의법」에 규정된 대상시설별 및 점자 편의시설별 이용 빈도, 중요도 및 만족도를 분석하였고, 점자 표기 관련 규정의 개정 방안에 대한 의견을 조사하였다. 연구 결과: 대상시설 및 점자 편의시설에 따른 시각장애인들의 이용 빈도가 차이가 있었고, 점자 표기의 중요도는 높다고 인식한 반면 만족도는 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 현관문 잠금장치에 대한 점자 표기 관련 규정이 마련되어야 한다는 의견 등이 제시되었다. 결론: 시각장애인들의 요구와 시설 환경의 변화를 반영해 점자 편의시설 관련 규정이 개정되어야 하고, 제2차 점자 발전 5개년 계획도 수립되어야 한다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the needs for the braille convenience facilities among persons with visual impairments. Method: A total of 400 individuals with visual impairments across the nation participated in this study by responding to a questionnaire addressing the frequency of use, perceived importance, and satisfaction level of braille convenience facilities and the measures for revising accommodation-related regulations. Results: The frequencies of use of facilities by those with visual impairments varied depending the type of facilities. There were statistically significant differences between perceived levels of importance and satisfaction on braille-designated facilities. Conclusion: Accommodation-related regulations must be revised to reflect the needs of persons with visual impairments.
