본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 부모의 심리적 통제와 진로미결정관계에서 진로결정자기효능감의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구의 목적을 위해 J지역 4년제 대학에 재학중인 남녀 대학생을 대상으로 부모의 심리적 통제 질문지, 진로미결정 질문지, 진로결정자기효능감 질문지를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 총 300명을 대상으로 한 설문에서 불성실하게 응답한 자료를 제외한 259명의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 구조방정식을 활용하여 부모의 심리적 통제와 진로미결정관계에서 진로결정자기효능감의 매개모형을 검증하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부의 심리적 통제와 진로미결정의 관계에서 진로결정자기효능감은 매개효과가 없었다. 둘째, 모의 심리적 통제와 진로미결정의 관계에서 진로결정자기효능감이 완전매개효과를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 상담현장에서 대학생의 진로미결정 상황의 효과적 개입을 위해 부와 모의 심리적 통제와 각각의 영향력을 미치는 과정에 대한 확인이 필요하며, 특히 진로결정자기효능감을 높일 수 있는 개입이 필요하다는 시사점을 제공하였다는 것에 의의가 있다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 제한점 및 추후 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.
This study examined the mediating effect of career decision-making self-efficacy in the link between parental psychological control and career indecision for college students. The data collected from a total sample of 259 college students were analyzed to examine the mediated role through a structural equation model. The findings included: (a) career decision-making self-efficacy had no mediating effect on the relationship between paternal psychological control and career indecision,; (b) career decision-making self-efficacy had a complete mediating effect on the relationship between maternal psychological control and career indecision. Such results suggest that parental psychological control may play an important role in delivering effective interventions for college students’ career indecision in counselling settings and that it is important to provide interventions that focus on improving career decision-making self-efficacy. The significance and limitations of this study are discussed.
