언론에 나타난 정신장애인 담론에 대한 비판적 분석

A Critical Analysis Discourse on People with Mental Disorder in the Newspapers

본 연구는 정신건강복지법 개정 시기를 중심으로 5개 언론에 나타난 정신장애인 담론을 비판적 담론분석(CDA) 방법으로 분석하였다. 텍스트 차원, 담론적 실천 차원, 사회문화적 실천 차원의 분석에서 다양한 정신장애인의 표상과 담론이 드러났다. 분석 결과 언론이 형성한 장신장애인 담론에서 이념적 대결은 사라지고 사회통념을 견고화 하려는 담론이 지배하며 결과적으로 정신장애인이 배제된 제도적 한계가 답보되고 있음이 드러났다. 이에 따라 언론이 재현한 정신장애인에 대한 왜곡된 표상에서 만들어진 제도와 정책이 제고되어야 하며, 정신장애인 담론의 부당성을 드러내고 정신장애인에 대한 새로운 인 식을 구성하기 위한 담론전략이 필요함을 주장하였다

This study analyzed the discourses of people with mental Disorder in five media, focusing on the revision period of the Mental Health Welfare Act, using the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method. Various representations and discourses of People with mental disorder were revealed in the analysis of the text analysis, the analysis of the level of discursive practice, and the analysis of the sociocultural practice. This study found that the ideological confrontation disappeared on the people with mental disorder discourse in the newspaper, the discourse to solidify social convention is dominated, and consequently the previous social practices were being followed. In this regard, system and policies created form the distorted representation of the people with mental disorder reproduced by the newspaper should be reconsidered, emphasized the necessity of discourse strategies to reveal the unfairness of the disability discourse and to construct a new perception of the people with mental disorder.
