학교장 리더십과 교사의 교수역량 관계에서 지역사회 관계와 학교풍토의 매개효과

Examining the relationship of school principal’s leadership and teaching competency of teachers: Measuring mediating effects of school-community relationship and school climate

연구목적: 이 연구는 교사가 지각한 학교장의 리더십이 교사의 교수역량 신장에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 지역사회 관계와 학교풍토의 매개적 효과를 확인하고 규명하는데 목적을 두었다. 연구방법: 부산교육종단연구 5차년도(2020년도) 자료 중에서 815명의 중학교 교사의 응답 자료를 사용하여 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 교사가 지각한 학교장 리더십은 지역사회와의 관계 활성화에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나지만, 교사의 교수역량 신장에는 직접적인 영향력이 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 교사가 지각한 학교장 리더십이 학교풍토 개선에 유의한 영향력으로 나타나며, 지역사회 관계가 유의미하게 정(+)적으로 매개하고 있다는 것을 보여주었다. 셋째, 교사가 지각한 학교장 리더십과 교사의 교수역량 관계에서 지역사회와의 관계는 학교풍토와 함께 유의미한 매개 역할을 하고 있었다. 논의 및 결론: 학교와 지역사회의 관계가 교사의 교수역량 증진에 간접적인 영향을 주기 때문에, 교육청은 학교와 지역사회가 교육 자원과 프로그램을 공유하고 공동 활용할 수 있도록 정책을 발굴하고 인적, 기술적, 물질적 기반을 제공하며, 학교는 학부모와 지역 인사가 학교경영에 참여할 수 있는 다양한 기회를 제공할 필요가 있다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of principal s leadership on teaching competency of teachers. School-community relationship and school climate were also investigated as mediating factors. Method: A structural equation model was conducted using 815 middle school teacher s response data from the fifth year (2020) of the Busan Education Longitudinal Study (BELS). Results: First, the leadership of school principal had a significant positive effect on school-community relationship, but there was no significant direct effect on teacher s competency. Second, principal s leadership had a significant positive relationship in improving school climate. Also, the school-community relationship was significantly positively mediated. Third, school-community relationship and school climate played a significant mediating role in pathway between principal s leadership and teaching competency. Conclusion: As the school-community relationship had an indirect effect on teachers competency, the office of education should develop policies and provide human, technical, and material resources to share and utilize educational resources and programs between school and community. Schools need to provide various opportunities for parents and local personnel to participate in school management.
