대학 교양교육과정의 종교 교과 운영에 대한 고찰

A Study on the Curriculum of Religion in Liberal Arts Education

4차 산업혁명이라는 생산방식의 변화에 따른 미래사회의 불투명성과 과학기술 발전에 대한 사회적 우려와 요구는대학 교양교육과정에도 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 지난 2주기 대학기본역량진단 이후 대학들은 교육과정에 4차 산업혁명’, 융복합’, 역량’ 등의 키워드를 반영하기 위해 분주하다. 우리가 그 방향성에 대해 동의하든 그렇지 않든 교양교육의 지형변화는 진행 중이며, 3주기 진단 결과에 따라 가속화될 가능성이 크다. 이러한 변화의 추세에 다소 뒤늦은 감은있지만 이제라도 종교 교육 분야에서 기존 대학 교양교육과정에서 종교 교과 편성 및 운영의 문제점을 진단하고 앞으로의 방향성에 대한 논의가 필요하다. 이러한 문제의식에서 이 논문은 종교 교과에 대한 분석 자료를 토대로 몇 가지 제안을 하였다. 첫째, 종립대학 선택교양의 종교 교과목에 나타난 종단 편향성을 탈피하자는 것이다. 교과목명과 달리 내용요소가 특정 종교에 제한되는 교과목은 내용요소의 종교별 균형성을 복원하는 방향으로 개선이 필요하다. 둘째, 인성교육을 표방한 종단 과목은 종교교육을 인성교육 범주로 제한하며 종교 교과의 지평을 축소시킨다. 따라서 대학의 인성교육 과목들의 탈종단화가 필요하며, 해당 교육은 종교기관에 이관하거나 연계를 통한 비교과 프로그램으로 운영하는 방안을 제시해본다. 셋째, 종교교과의 과목 개발과 기존 과목의 개선 노력이 필요하다. 넷째, 종교 교과목 담당교수의 교수법 개선이 요구된다.

As a result of changes in production methods, so called ‘the 4th Industrial Revolution’, the social worries of the future society s opacity and demands on the development of science and technology have brought many changes to the liberal arts curriculum in university. Since the last 2nd evaluation of basic competency diagnosis, universities have been busy with applying key words such as the 4th industrial revolution , convergence , capacity , etc. on curriculum. Whether we agree or not, the topographical change in liberal arts education is ongoing and is very likely to be accelerated depending on the results of the 3rd evaluation. It is, therefore, time to discuss the problems of the curriculum for religion in liberal arts education and to find out the way for the future. In this consciousness, this study made some suggestions based on the analysis data of curriculum and subjects related to religion. Firstly, it is important to break away religious bias from the curriculum of liberal arts education in religious foundation university. Unlike the subject name, subjects of which contents are limited to a specific religion need to be improved. Secondly, a subject specially related to the religious order, even though the subject looks like a general one for education of moral character development, limits religious education to the category of the former and reduce its own domain. So, it is necessary to eliminate religious elements from education of moral character development, and the courses must be transferred to the religious institutions or conducted as extracurricular programs through linkage with them. Thirdly, it should be considered to research and develop various subjects for religion or to improve existing subjects. And finally, the teaching method of the course for religion required to be improved.
