가톨릭고등학교 종교교육에 대한 교사의 인식과 실천

Teachers Perception and Practice About a Religious Education In Catholic High School

학교의 교육이념과 교육목표는 교육과정을 통해 구현되고, 가톨릭학교 종교교육과정은 학교 정 체성을 구현하는 특징을 지닌다. 하지만 국가 교육과정에서 종교 교과의 성격은 종교학 교과이며, 주요 목표는 다종교 사회에서 종교문화 이해이다. 본 연구는 가톨릭학교 종교교육에 대한 교사의 인식과 실천에 대한 조사연구로써 종교교사들이 위의 두 가지 역할을 어떻게 수행하고 있는지, 그 과정에서 종교교사들은 어떤 어려움이 있는지에 대한 탐색을 목적으로 한다. 학교마다 1명의 교사 가 종교 교과를 담당하는 상황에서, 본 연구의 연구결과는 종교교사를 지원하는 방안 탐색에 활용 될 수 있을 것이다. 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 가톨릭고등학교 종교교사들은 종교교육에 대 해 어떻게 인식하고 실천하고 있는가? 둘째, 가톨릭고등학교 종교교육 실천에서 교사들이 주요하 게 고려하는 사항은 무엇인가? 셋째, 가톨릭고등학교 종교교사들이 종교교육 실천에서 경험하는 갈등은 무엇인가? 연구는 문헌 분석과 교사 대상 심층면담의 방법으로 진행하였다. 연구 결과는 첫째, 교사들은 종교교육을 종교적 심성을 일깨우는 교육, 가톨릭의 전통과 장점이 구현되는 교육, 종교에 대한 비판적 사고를 기르고 참 종교를 식별하는 교육, 종교 전반에 대한 이해를 도모하는 교육, 인성교육, 비교과 영역인 종교행사를 통해 이루어지는 교육, 교사의 삶을 통해서 이루어지는 교육이라고 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 가톨릭 고등학교 종교교육 실천에서 역점을 두는 사항은 문화 적 다양성에 대한 존중과 이웃 종교에 대한 존중이었다. 셋째, 종교교육 실천에서 교사들이 경험 하는 갈등은 종교교육에 대한 학교 구성원의 이해 부족, 종교교육 실제와 가톨릭 교육 이념 구현 간의 간극, 교회의 지원과 관심 부족, 종교교육에 대한 인식 부족, 적절한 교재의 미흡함 등을 들 고 있다. 갈등과 도전이 되는 과제를 해결하기 위해 교사들은 주로 개별적으로 노력하고 있지만, 학습공동체 활동의 필요성도 제기하고 있었다.

Missions and aims of school education are realized by curriculum. Specially, the religious education in Catholic high school is characterized the identity realization. However, a feature of religious studies, in the 2015 curriculum, is the study of religion and is aimed to understand various religious cultures in multi-religious society. The aims of this study are investigating about how a religion education is dealt with dual roles which are religious education and religion education in Catholic high school and also how religion teachers have difficulty in the curriculum. Every school has only one religious teacher, which the result of study can be used to support religious teachers. The issues are : First, how do religious teacher in Catholic high school understand and practice in the religious education? Second, what are the teachers special considerations on the religious education practice in Catholic high school? Third, what do teachers have conflict in religious education practice? This study includes the analysis of various research and interview with teachers in Catholic high school. The results are : First, the religious education is to aid growth of the religiosity, to practise Catholic tradition and advantage, to improve a critical thinking about religion and discern true religion, to understand religion in general, character education, to teach religious activities in non-subject areas and teaching with teachers life it self. Second, the religious education practice in Catholic high school is to respect cultural variety and neighbor religion. Third, the teachers conflict is a lack of understanding about the religion education at school, a gap between religion education practice and Catholic education, a lack of support and interest by church, a lack of religion education necessity and insufficient textbook. Most teachers have tried to solve these problems and challenge by themselves, also respond necessity of learning community activities.
