가톨릭 사제 양성 과정에서의 영성계발

The Spiritual Development in the Priestly Formation of the Catholic Church

본 논문의 목적은 가톨릭 교회의 공식적인 사제 양성 과정 중에서 영성 계발에 초점을 맞추어 그 이론적 배경과 실제를 고찰하는 것이었다. 이 연구를 위해 주제에 직접적으로 관련된 교회의 공식적인 문헌들과 선행연구들을 검토하였다. 사제 양성은 교회의 사명 수행인 복음화를 위해 중요한 과업이다. 사제 양성은 엄정한 과정을 통해 사제직 지원자를 선택하여(선발), 유일하고 최상의 사제 양성 기관인 신학교에서(장소), 사제 양성 책임자들의 헌신적인 노력(책임자)을 통해 이루어진다. 또한 교회 전통 안에서 사제 양성의 필수적인 영역은 인격 양성, 지적 양성, 영적 양성, 사목적 양성이다. 인격 양성은 사제 양성의 기초이고, 지적 양성은 사제 양성의 자양분이며, 사목적 양성은 사제 양성의 목적이고, 영적 양성은 사제 양성의 완성이라고 할 수 있다. 영적 양성의 목적은 그리스도와 깊은 일치를 이루는 것으로, 이를 위해 현행 신학교에서 활용하는 영적 양성 방법은 그리스도를 찾는 것과 복음삼덕(福音三德)을 체득하는 두 영역으로 구분해 볼 수 있다. 먼저 ‘그리스도를 찾음’을 통한 영적 양성 방법에는 영성강화/영성지도, 거룩한 독서(lectio divina)/말씀 묵상, 성체성사/고해성사/성무일도, 개인기도/침묵/피정/영신수련, 영성의 해/영성심화의 해 등이 있다. ‘복음삼덕을 체득하는 방법은 교회의 오랜 전통 안에서 정결, 청빈, 순명의 신비에 대한 이해와 실천을 포함한다.

The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the theoretical backgrounds and practices for the spiritual formation which is one of various dimensions of the official process of the priestly formation in the Catholic Church. To accomplish this purpose, the Church’s official documents and other studies relevant to this subject were reviewed. The priestly formation is important task to accomplish the evangelization which is foremost mission of the Church. It includes such dimensions as ‘selection’ of the candidates, ‘seminary’ for the best place for the formation, and the ‘key persons’ for the formation. Also, there are four areas of the priestly formation, such as the human, the intellectual, the spiritual, and the pastoral. For the priestly formation, the human formation can be called as its foundation; the intellectual formation as its fertilizer; the pastoral formation as its aim; and the spiritual formation as its completion. The goal of the spiritual formation is to unify each candidate for the priesthood with Christ in propounded level. Two methodologies for the spiritual formation with which the seminaries have utilized in Korea are ‘Search for Christ’ and ‘Three Virtues of the Gospel.’ The programs of the ‘Search for Christ’ includes spiritual discourse, spiritual guidance, lectio divina, meditation of the Word, Eucharist, Confession, Horarium, personal prayer, silence, retreat, spiritual exercise, the Year of Spirituality, the Year of Spiritual Intensity. Cultivating such virtues as celibacy, poverty, and obedience are main foci for the programs of the Virtue of the Gospel.
