다문화사회와 개신교의 기독교교육

The Multi-cultural Society and Protestant Christian Education

이 글은 한국사회의 다문화적 변화에 따라 요구되는 종교교육의 범주와 내용을 개신교 입장에서 소개하는 글이다. 다문화, 다인종, 다종교적 사회변화가 진행되는 가운데 한국사회는 현 단계의 변화를 진단하고 다문화사회의 건강성을 확보하기 위한 각 종교계의 노력이 필요한바, 개신교의 종교적 가르침과 성서가 안내하고 있는 가치들을 다문화적 관점에서 소개, 분석하고 이에 따른 종교교육의 교육목표와 교육내용을 제안하고자 하는 것이다. 서론에서는 다문화사회와 관련한 종교교육 담론의 범주를 종교 간/종교 내의 영역으로 구분하고 두 범주에 따라 다문화 종교교육의 교육목표와 내용이 어떻게 차이가 나는가를 간단히 설명하고 본 논문 자체의 내용은 후자의 범주에 초점을 두고 서술하고 있음을 밝힌다. 본문의 내용은 다문화사회와 함께하는 개신교 종교교육의 목표, 성서와 개신교 가운데 대한예수교장로회 총회(이하 예장총회)의 헌법이 제시하고 있는 개신교 다문화 종교교육의 근거를 소개, 분석하였다. 그리고 예장총회의 다문화 종교교육의 상황을 설명하고 다문화사회에서의 개신교 교회와 종교교육의 역할을 제안하였다.

In this article, I introduced categories and contents of the religious education which are corresponding to the needs of multi-cultural changes of the Korean society. The notion of ‘religious education’ of multicultralism has to be formed into the two dimensions, ‘inter’ religious dialogue among different religions and ‘in’ each religious aspect. My writing is focused on the latter perspective insisting the function of Protestant churches and believers that are existing the multi-cultural Korean society. The changes of multi-cultural, multiracial, and multireligious have challenged to the religious world to analyze social reality and to keep its healthy transformation. In this perspective, as a Protestant Christian educator, I have proposed educational purpose and contents, explained the current situation of multi-cultural ministry, and suggested the roles of Christian education for the multi-cultural Korean society based upon the teachings from the Bible and the polity of the Presbyterian Church of Korea.
