팔정도 중심 자율장학모형을 통한 유아 교사의 자기장학 연구

A Study of the Autonomous Supervision of Early Childhood Teacher on based Noble Eightfold Path

유아교사는 유아교육의 주된 가치를 전달하는 주체자로서, 먼저 자신의 전문성과 올바르고 폭넓은 인격을 연마하지 않으면 안 된다. 자기장학은 장학의 과정을 통하여 꾸준한 자기연마를 하는 전문적 성장의 과정이다. 자기장학(self-supervision)에 가늠되는 불교 사상으로는 ‘포살(布薩)’과 ‘자자(自恣)’가 있는데, 공동체 생활 속에서 상호 신뢰 및 화합과 개인의 청정한 수행에 있어서 중요한 의식으로, 교사 자신의 전문성을 점검하고 향상시키며, 자기를 발전시키는 힘이 되므로, 자기 장학의 기본 방향을 설정하는 지침이 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 불교사상을 중심으로 제시된 ‘팔정도 중심의 자율장학 모형’을 바탕으로, 유아교사의 자기장학의 계획과 실행 평가에 이르기까지의 과정을 사례를 통하여 살펴보았다. 언어도단(言語道斷)의 가르침은 현대 교육의 관점에서 볼 때도 과격한 것이 아니라, 결국 언어와 지식의 근본적인 공성을 체득하라는 가르침이라고 이해할 수 있다. 연구 결과 ‘팔정도중심 자율장학 모형’은 교사저널쓰기를 통해 계획과 실행, 평가 단계에 이르기까지 유아 교사의 전문적 지식함양에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 일일 자가 점검을 통해 교사의 정의적 지식습득과 정의적 행동변화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 자기장학의 계획수립과 실행과정을 통해 습득한 상담능력의 습득은 교사효능감에 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 불교적 사상이 기반이 된 팔정도 중심의 자기 장학은 유아 교사로서 자신의 전문적 지식을 보다 더 증진시켜 갈 수 있으며, 아울러 그러한 과정에서 부수적으로 습득될 수 있는 정의적 능력과 인격의 함양을 통해, 유아교사는 자신과 관계 맺고 있는 주변 환경과 타인에 대한 이해의 지평을 넓혀갈 수 있게 될 것이다.

The early childhood teachers, the central figures teaching main values of early education, should form their moral and good character, and cultivate their expert knowledge of the early education. A self-supervision is a process of becoming a better teacher by constant doing a self-examination. Uposadha(posal: 布薩) and pravārasā(jaja: 自恣), which are often compared to the self-supervision, are similar idea in Buddhism. Because they enable teachers to supervise themselves and improve their professionalism, they could be a basic resource to cultivate teacher’s character and could be served as a way to do a self-supervision. This study has examined all the process from planning, practicing, to evaluating based on “the model of autonomous supervision centered on Noble Eightfold Path” in Buddhism. The results of this study on the effects of “the model of autonomic supervision centered on Noble Eightfold Path” in Buddhism showed that the reflective journal has the positive effect on their expertise and that the self examination has the desired effect on gaining right knowledge and changing their behavior. A supervision centered on Noble Eightfold Path in Buddhism encourages the early childhood teachers to improve their expertise. Therefore forming teachers’s character help teachers promote deeper understanding of environment and other people.
