돌봄윤리 관점에서 미술학습부진에 대한 고찰

A Study on the Art Learning Underachievement from the Perspective of Ethics of Care

본 연구는 미술교육에서 미술학습부진에 대한 관점의 새로운 변화를 모색하기 위해 우리가 어떠한 지향점을 갖고 미술학습부진에 접근해야 하는지 고찰하고자 돌봄윤리 관점에서 논의를 통해 미술학습부진 교육의 윤리적 당위성과 교사들의 역할을 제안하고자 한다. 돌봄윤리의 핵심 가치는 ‘신경씀’, ‘책임감’, ‘실천하는 실력’, ‘타자 우선성’이다. 교사는 돌봄윤리의 핵심 가치를 바탕으로 미술학습부진을 발견하고, 책임감 있게 교육해야 할 윤리적 의무를 가진다. 미술학습부진 학생의 교육에서 돌봄의 가치를 고려하여 실천적으로 접근함과 동시에 실력을 갖추어야 진정한 돌봄이 일어날 수 있다. 돌봄인으로서 교사는 의존인인 미술학습부진 학생과 돌봄을 주고받는 관계를 형성하고, 기존의 교육관행을 넘어 새로운 교육 방법을 모색하는 자율성을 발휘하며, 민감성을 갖고 미술학습부진 상황을 인식하도록 해야 한다. 교사는 윤리적 돌봄 감정을 유지하며 미술학습부진 학생에 대한 돌봄을 통해 미술 수업에서 자립할 수 있는 능력을 길러줌으로써 미술학습의 출발점을 평등하게 만드는데 이바지할 수 있다.

This study aims to suggest the ethical justification of art education and the role of teachers through discussion from the perspective of ethics of care in order to examine what direction we should approach art learning underachievement with to seek new changes in the perspective of art learning underachievement. The core values of ethics of care are ‘attentiveness’, ‘responsibility’, ‘practicing ability’, and ‘responsiveness to other’. Teachers have an ethical duty to discover art learning underachievement and to educate them responsibly based on the core value of ethics of care. In the education of students with art learning underachievement, it is necessary to take practical approach considering the value of care and to have skills at the same time to have true care. As a carer, teachers should form a relationship between caring and caring with underachieving students who are dependents, demonstrate autonomy to seek new education methods beyond existing educational practices, and recognize the underachieving situation of art learning with sensitivity. Teachers can contribute to equalizing the starting point of art learning by maintaining ethical care feelings and developing the ability to be independent in art classes through care for students with art learning underachievement.
