고흐의 명화작품과 만난 미술치료사의 자전적 이야기

An Autobiographical Story of an Art Therapist Who Met with Gogh’s Masterpieces

본 연구의 목적은 고흐의 명화작품과 만난 미술치료사의 미술치료 과정에서 경험의 의미는 무엇인가를 알아보는 것이다. 본 연구는 질적 연구의 한 방법인 Clandinin과 Connelly(2000)의 ‘내러티브 탐구방법’을 활용하여 우선 연구자의 인생 주기별 행복감을 분석하고 그 행복감을 대표감정, 지배감정, 핵심감정으로 구분하였다. 그리고 연구자의 핵심감정과 가장 관련 있는 고흐의 작품을 활용한 미술치료 활동을 통해 연구자의 성장 과정에서의 심리 장애를 치유하는 경험을 담고 있다. 본 연구 과정에서 도출된 고흐의 명화작품과 만난 미술치료사의 경험은 ‘큰 소리’, ‘가진 자의 추락’, ‘만학도의 길을 가다’, ‘꿈에 그리던 강단에 서다’로 구성되었다. 이러한 경험을 바탕으로 고흐의 명화작품과 만난 미술치료사의 경험 의미는 ‘타자폭력에 의한 심리 장애를 겪다’, ‘자기 성취에 의한 만족감에 도취 되다’, ‘ 자기폭력에 의한 심리 장애에 빠지다’, ‘자기 존재에 대한 기쁨을 갈망하다’의 총 네 가지로 범주화되었다. 본 연구에서 명화의 작품과 만난 미술치료사의 경험 이야기는 연구자의 내면의 아이와 직면하여 심리 장애를 치유하는 중요한 과정이었다. 본 연구가 연구자와 유사한 상황에 있는 미술치료사들에게 유용한 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to find out how the experience of an art therapist affects, who encountered Gogh s masterpieces in the art therapy activity. In this study, we use the narrative exploration of Clandinin and Connelly (2000) as a qualitative research method. By employing the narrative exploration, we analyze the happiness in the researcher’s life cycle and then subdivide it into representative, dominant, and core feelings. This study also entails the growth process of the researcher in the art therapy activity, which is based on Gogh’s work closely related to the core feeling. The experiences of the art therapist consist of ‘loud noise’, ‘the fall of the haves’, ‘late learner’, ‘going into teaching’. The implications based on the art therapist’s experience are categorized into four types: ‘psychological disorder caused by violence from other people’, ‘satisfaction from self-achievement’, ‘psychological disorder caused by self-violence’, ‘longing for pleasure of self-existence’. The experience narrative plays an important role in solving psychological problems and facing the inner child based on self-treatment. In this light, these findings provide precious insight into the narrative data for the art therapists under similar conditions.
