A Study on the Process Optimization of FGD Waste Water Treatment Facilities in 500MW Class Coal Fired Power Plants

As there are so various materials which obstruct FGD(Flue Gas Desulfurization) waste water treatment in large scale(500MW×4) biomass and coal co-fired power plants the process improvement of now operating waste water treatment system is necessary to remove non-degradable contaminants such as T-N, Mn, F etc. In this study the influence of waste water pH, inorganic coagulants, anti-Ca agent which are concerned with efficiency of FGD waste water treatment system was analyzed. In addition, eco-friendly and strong oxydant, Ferrate(VI), was tested to verify the possibility of removing water pollutants in real operating FGD waste water treatment facility. From the test results increasing pH 7.5 to 9.1 is more effective to reduce Mn concentration in reaction tank and T-N, SS, COD, T-P were removed 62.9, 70.9, 81.5, 66.7% respectively using 0.5% Ferrate(VI) rate injection.
