코로나19 상황에서의 사회복지현장실습 운영현황과 개선방안에 관한 탐색적 연구: 실습세미나 담당교수를 대상으로

Social work field education in the COVID19 era: Exploring field education instructors’ experiences

본 연구는 코로나19 상황에서 실시된 사회복지현장실습의 실습지도 운영현황을 파악 하고 실습지도에 대한 인식을 조사함으로써 코로나19를 비롯한 사회적 위기 속에서 효 과적인 사회복지현장실습이 이루어지기 위한 방안모색을 위해 수행되었다. 대학에서 실 습세미나를 담당하는 교수를 대상으로 2020년 11월 17일부터 12월 4일까지 설문조사와 초점집단면접(FGI)을 실시하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 실습가능기관 감소로 실습지 확보와 학생 배정에 어려움이 있었으며, 실습세미나는 주로 온라인 화상수업 및 동영상 강의를 통해 이루어졌다. 간접실습 콘텐츠로 대부분 한국보건복지인력개발원의 온라인 교육콘텐츠를 사용했고, 간접실습에 대한 규정과 지침의 모호, 코로나19를 비롯한 학과 자체의 규정 미비로 실습지도에 어려움이 있었다. 반면, 기관실습에서 클라이언트 대면 기회 감소 등의 한계를 극복하기 위해 실습세미나에서 사례분석, 사회복지실천윤리와 가치, 인권 교육 등을 추가적으로 실시하는 등 코로나19 상황에서의 사회복지현장실습 의 적극적 수행을 위한 방안모색을 위한 노력들이 발견되었다. 분석결과를 바탕으로 코 로나19를 비롯한 사회적 위기 상황에 대응하는 사회복지현장실습 지도의 내실화를 위한 방안을 제시하였다.

This study was conducted with an aim to examine how COVID19 has affected social work field education in Korea, focusing on university field instructors’ experiences. In doing so, we sought to propose more effective countermeasures to address various issues in social work field education related to COVID19. With such objectives, we conducted on-line surveys and several focus group interviews(FGI) to obtain more in-depth understanding of teaching experiences of field education instructors from November to December of 2020. The results show that despite a large portion of classes being replaced with on-line classes, many of the instructors attempted to provide quality education via using tutors, small group discussion sessions, and various educational tools and methods. The most noticeable difficulties they encountered were assisting students to find placement as the number of social work agencies offering field placement reduced significantly. In addition, taking on additional responsibilities of operating ‘in-direct’ field placement program was a difficult challenge for most instructors as the number of hours required for field placement on site was reduced due to COVID19. We found that many of the instructors used on-line educational contents provided by Korea Human Resource Development Institute for for Health and Welfare, and without sound protocols or guidelines on either COVID19 measures and in-direct field placement, many experienced confusion. Based on the findings, implications for future social work field education are provided.
