천도교의 양성적(兩性的) 인간관에 근거한 ‘호주제’ 폐지

Abolishing the System of the Head of a Family through of Human View in Chondokyo

현재 법률상 호주제는 천도교에 있어서 인간에 대한 근원적 이해와 상반된다. 호주제는 인간 각자가 자기 안의 한울님을 실현시킴에 있어 다양할 수밖에 없는 개성화와 주체화를 상징적으로 가로막는 것이며 다양한 가족형태를 이루어 다양한 삶을 이루어 가는데 방해가 되고 있다. 즉 호주제는 인간 각자가 내면적으로 兩性을 키우고 사회적 삶에서 남녀 모두가 한울님으로서 서로 한울님됨을 돕는 천도교의 양성적 인간관에 위배되는 것이며 이는 고유의 전통사상에도 맞지 않다. 우리 전통 사상 안에는 성차별의 역사도 있지만 남자와 여자를 인간으로서 평등하고도 존엄하게 대했던 전통도 있는 것이다.

Now legally, The system of the head of a family is contrary to human view of Chondokyo. The system of the head of a family oppresses individualization and autonomy of people, and various system of family, and various life. That is to say, the system of the head of a family disturbes people in inside growth of bisexuality and in growth of Hanulnim. Also the system of the head of a family is not fit for traditional thought native to Korea. In our tradition, there is not only history of sexual discrimination but also tradition of equality in both of sexes.
