방과후학교 운영 실태 분석

Analysis of Operation Condition of After-school Program: focusing on cases of elementary, middle and high schools in Daejeon Metropolitan City

본 연구는 대전광역시 소재 초･중･고의 2015년~2019년 사이 방과후학교 운영실태를 분석하여 방과후학교의 주요 현황, 운영 성과, 문제점 등이 어떻게 변화되었는지 실태를 분석하고 대안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구를 위하여 대전광역시 방과후학교 운영계획서와 운영 길라잡이, 2019 학교알리미 공개용 데이터 분석, 선행연구 등의 문헌분석을 하였다. 방과후학교의 운영 성과로 학교는 방과후학교 운영을 통해 학교의 특색을 만들어가고, 교사는 학생･학부모의 관점에서 방과후학교를 재인식하는 계기가 되었다. 방과후학교에 참여한 학생은 학력 향상 및 소질을 계발하고, 학부모는 자녀들이 안전한 공간에서 원하는 내용을 배울 수 있고 사교육비 경감에 긍정적인 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 방과후학교는 문화･예술･인성교육을 바탕으로 특기･적성을 계발할 수 있도록 학생 중심의 다양하고 창의적인 교육경험을 제공하지만, 학교급별로 학생 참여율, 교과 프로그램과 특기･적성 프로그램 운영의 불균형 심화 등의 문제가 있어 이에 대한 대안의 필요성이 더욱 커지고 있다.

This study aims to analyze operation condition of after-school program of elementary, middle and high schools located in Daejeon Metropolitan City from 2016 to 2018 including change of present condition, operation performance and problems, and to suggest an alternative plan. An operation plan, operation guide, school Alimi public data 2019 and preceding research of after-school program in Daejeon Metropolitan City were analyzed. The operation performance of after-school program enables schools to turn up schools’ character and teachers to have a new understanding of after-school program from the viewpoint of students and their parents. The students who participate in after-school program could achieve learning improvement and develop their aptitude. After-school programs were shown to have a positive impact on parents as students can learn what they want in safe space and private education costs are reduced. There is a growing need for an alternative plan as there are problems such as participation rate of students according to school level, a serious imbalance between school curriculum and special aptitude program though after-school programs offer the diverse and creative education experience to develop students’ talent and aptitude based on the education of culture, art and personality.
