방과후학교의 관점에서 본 마을교육공동체의 의미와 발전 과제

A study on development challenges and meaning of regional education community from the viewpoint of after-school education

이 연구는 최근 우리나라에서 추진되고 있는 마을교육공동체 논의와 실천 노력을 살펴보고 방과후학교와의 연계 가능성과 과제를 논의하였다. 이를 위해서 먼저 방과후학교의 운영 현황과 과제를 살펴보았다. 그 다음으로 마을교육공동체의 배경과 발달 과정을 개관하고, 마을교육공동체의 개념, 특징, 유형 등을 분석해 보았다. 이를 바탕으로 하여 방과후학교와 마을교육공동체가 상호 연계 효과를 산출할 수 있는 가능성을 논의하였다. 마지막으로 학교, 방과후학교, 마을교육공동체가 연계하여 효과를 얻기 위해서 고려해야할 발전 과제로서 지역의 교육적 자원 확보, 지역의 학교교육 참여 보장, 지역 구성원의 자발성 제고, 방과후학교의 역할과 목표 확장, 교육활동의 맥락과 상황 고려 등을 논의하였다.

This study examines the contents of regional education community project currently being promoted in Korea and discusses the possibility of linking with after school education. First, this study has summarized the current conditions and challenges of after-school education in South Korea. Next, the concept of the regional education community was reviewed, and the type of the regional education community was analyzed by focusing on combination of regional community movement and school education. Based on this results, discussed was the possibility that after-school education and regional education community can establish a connection with schooling and produce its effects on improving school education. Finally, challenges of each sector is suggested for future functions and developments.
