판소리계 소설의 리얼리즘적 성격 - 완판 <심청전>을 중심으로 -

A study on the characteristics of realism in pansori - Focusing on Wanpan version Simcheongjeon -

이 글은 판소리계 소설인 완판 <심청전>의 리얼리즘적 성격을 밝히는 것을 목표로 한다. 한국의 경우, 남한과 북한이 함께 이 개념을 사용하면서 그 의미가 확장되고 모호해졌다. 하지만 엥겔스나 루카치에 의하면 리얼리즘은 역사적 합법칙성, 현실 반영(반영론), 전형성, 세부묘사(디테일) 등을 미학적 특징으로 하는 창작방법이다. 그리고 이념과 관계없이 이 특징들은 소설에 생명력을 부여하는 중요한 요소들이다. 판소리는 창과 소설이 동시에 발전하면서 특유의 개방성을 통해 현실을 받아들이고 민중의 생활에 기반한 새로운 사상을 형상화했다. 특히 완판 <심청전>은 서민들의 가난한 현실을 섬세하게 반영하면서, 그들의 생존을 위한 노력을 구체적으로 드러냈다. 또 이를 통해 한국 특유의 중세적 합리주의를 극복하고 민중의 생활에 기반한 새로운 가치를 정립하고자 했다.

This article aims to reveal the characteristics of realism in Pansori Wanpan version Simcheongjeon. In the case of Korea, the meaning is expanded and ambiguous as both South and North Korea use the term at the same time. According to Engels and Luk&#225;cs, realism is a literary creation method with aesthetic characteristics such as historical legitimacy, reflection of reality, typicality, and detail. And regardless of ideology, these characteristics are important elements that give life to the fiction. Pansori accepted reality through its unique openness as songs and novels developed at the same time, and shaped new ideas based on people s lives. In particular, Wanpan version Simcheongjeon delicately reflects the poor reality of the common people, and concretely reveals their efforts for survival. And through this, it contributed to the legitimate development of history by overcoming Korea s unique medieval rationalism and establishing new values based on people s lives.
