소쇄원의 공간상징에 관한 연구

The Study of the Space Symbols for the Korean Garden Soswaewon

본 연구는 공간의 상징적 의미를 고찰하고 에덴동산의 공간적 상징과 한국정원, 소쇄원의 공간상징을 분석하고자 하였다. 에덴동산의 공간상징은 소쇄원에서 찾을 수 있었다. 소쇄원의 전체성은 분리의 경계가 사라지고 소통하는 모든 것들이 연결되어 하나의 자연이 되는 것을 상징한다. 큰 공간에서 시작하여 하나의 작은 단위로 나누면서 부분과 전체의 관계를 설정하는 상징적 의미가 있다. 이는 에덴동산의 공간이 생성과정의 상징적 의미를 갖고 있다는 점과 유사하다. 에덴동산의 공간적 상징과 소쇄원의 공간적 상징은 시공간을 초월한 동시성을 의미한다. 소쇄원에서 부채꼴 모양의 오솔길과 다리와 같은 요소들이 서로 연결되는 구조로 영역간의 유연성을 허용하면서 이동에 따라 시간과 공간의 변화를 역동적으로 경험하게 한다. 소쇄원은 부분적으로 구분되어 있는 것 같이 보이지만 영역으로 연결하면서 연속적인 순환적 질서를 상징한다. 순환적 공간과 시간은 시공간의 전체 구성으로 모든 창조물의 변성인 보편적인 순환구조를 의미한다.

The study surveys the symbolic meaning of space, looks into the progress of unconscious becoming conscious by analyzing the space symbols of the Garden of Eden and analyzes Korean traditional garden. The space symbol of the Garden of Eden can find from the Korea traditional garden, Soswaewon. The wholeness of Soswaewon is that boundaries of divisions fade out and it becomes nature through all things communicating. Korean traditional space are divided from the whole to the parts and that it has a space structure of forming the whole through the relationships between the parts, it shares a similar process of creation and symbolic meaning with the Garden of Eden. Synchronicity means that the boundary between the building and the nature vanishes and it exceeds time and space. The related composition of factors such as fan shaped paths and bridges essentially allows flexibility between the sectors of Soswaewon and by giving changes in the sights and time according to the movements, enabled a dynamic experience of space. Soswaewon seems to be divided in parts, but if connected by sectors, it has continuity with an invisible circulation order. Circulative space and time refers to the whole composition of time and space, the universal revolution structure that transforms all creation.
