음악 전공자들의 경력전환 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구 - 타 분야에서 일하는 기악 전공자를 중심으로 -

A Phenomenological Study of Career Transitions of Music Majors: Focusing on Instrumental Majors Working in Non-music Fields

본 연구는 타 분야에서 일하고 있는 음악 전공자들의 경력전환 경험에 관한 현상학적 연구를 통해 경험의 본질을 이해하고 그 경험이 갖는 성인학습적 의미를 고찰하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 기악을 전공한 11명의 연구참여자를 심층 면담을 진행하였고 이들이 갖는 경험의 본질을 탐색하기 위해 현상학적 분석을 하였다. 연구결과 연주자의 삶을 포기한 후 다른 길을 찾고, 새 로운 일을 시작하며 음악 전공자로서 새로운 경력을 개발하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 연구참여자들의 경력전환 과정과 경력전환 이유, 경력전환 경험 의 성인학습적 의미와 본질을 밝히고 이를 바탕으로 음대 재학생들을 위한 직업진로교육에 시사 하는 바와 후속 연구를 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the essence of the experiences of music majors’ career transitions and to find the implications from an adult learning perspective. In-depth interviews were conducted with 11 research participants and phenomenological analysis was conducted to explore the nature of their experiences. After giving up a career as music performer, the research participants started a new career in other fields. This study revealed the meaning and nature of participants career transition process, motivations, and experiences. It suggested revisiting vocational career education for music major college students.
