인공지능윤리의 정립 방향 모색: 기술과 해석학의 만남을 중심으로

An Exploration for the Direction of AI Ethics: Focused on the Meeting between Technology and Hermeneutics

본 연구는, 리쾨르의 해석학에 기대어, 기술이 자기이해를 매개하는 텍스트로 이해될수 있다는 점을 드러내고 인공지능윤리의 정립 방향을 새로운 관점에서 모색하는 데 목적을 둔다. 자동화에서 자율화로 이행하는 지능정보기술의 급격한 발달은 기술이 사용자에 의한 일방적인 소비를 거부하고 있다는 사실을 명백한 형태로 부각시키고 있다. 기술은 침묵을 지킨 채 이 사람 저 사람에게서 아무렇게나 사용되고 마는 묵묵부답의덩어리가 아니다. 그것은 삶의 총체성을 매개하는 일종의 ‘텍스트’이며 사용자와 함께삶의 내러티브를 써 내려가는 공동저자로서의 지위를 가진다. 사용자 윤리는 사용자가기술을 윤리적으로 활용해야 한다는 의미이기도 하지만, 다른 한편으로 사용자와 기술이 맺고 있는 관계가 윤리적이어야 한다는, 즉 사용자와 기술이 서로 공동저자로서의관계를 유지해야 한다는 의미이기도 하다. 일상의 생활 사태에서 기술은 삶의 필요를충족시켜주는 도구적 수단으로 취급되지만, 교육 사태에서는 사정이 다르다. 교실에서이루어지는 수업은 일상의 생활 사태와는 구분되는, 그리하여 기술이 지닌 필요초과의성격이 확인되고 존중되는 시간이며, 인공지능윤리교육은 기술이 매개하는 자기이해의가능성을 실현하는 데 특별한 관심을 기울일 필요가 있다.

This study aims to reveal that technology can be understood as a text mediating self-understanding based on Ricoeur’s hermeneutics and to explore the tasks of AI ethics from a new perspective. The rapid development of the intelligent information technology moving from automation to autonomy highlights the fact that technology rejects unilateral consumption by users. Technology is not just an instrumental means but a co-author who shapes the narrative unity of human lives with users. Ethics for users, on the one hand, means that users should use technology ethically, but on the other hand it also means that users and technology should maintain a conversational relationship with each other. Moral education based on AI ethics needs special attention to respect the superfluity of technology and to realize the possibility of self-understanding mediated by technology.
