기독 대학생의 우울과 내적 학습 동기의 관계에서 신앙성숙도의 매개효과

Mediating Effect of Faith Maturity on the Relationship Between Depression and Intrinsic Academic Motivation of Christian College Students

본 연구의 목적은 기독 대학생의 신앙성숙도가 우울과 내적 학습 동기의 관계를 매개하는지 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 H 대학교 신입생 중 기독학생 610명을 대상으로 신앙성숙도, 우울 정도, 학습 동기 척도를 사용해 설문을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우울은 신앙성숙도, 내적 학습 동기와 부적 상관을 보였고, 신앙성숙도는 내적 학습 동기와 정적 상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기독 대학생의 우울은 내적 학습 동기와 신앙성숙도에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤고, 신앙성숙도는 내적 학습 동기에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 기독 대학생의 신앙성숙도는 우울과 내적 학습 동기의 관계를 부분 매개하여 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나 기독 대학생의 우울감은 학습을 통해 지식, 성취, 자극을 추구하고자 하는 동기를 저하시키고 신앙의 신념과 행동 차원에 부정적 영향을 미치는 반면, 신앙성숙도가 높을수록 학습 동기가 향상된다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 토대로 기독 대학생의 내적 학습 동기를 증진시키기 위해 정신건강에 대한 관심을 기울여야 함을 강조함과 동시에 신앙적인 성숙도를 높이기 위한 방향성이 모색되어야 함을 제언하였다.

The goal of this study is to examine the mediating effects of faith maturity on the relationship between depression and intrinsic academic motivation of Christian college students. 610 freshmen students of H University were given a survey which contained Shepherd Scale, Depression Scale, and Intrinsic Academic Motivation Scale. The results are follows. It shows that the faith maturity of Christian college students has partial mediating effect between depression and intrinsic academic motivation. In other words, despite the depression which could reduce the intrinsic academic motivation and cause negative influences on students’ belief and behaviors, high faith maturity could be protective factor from the negative impacts and improve the intrinsic academic motivation. Based on this study, it shows that the differentiated intervention is needed to increase students’ faith maturity.
