우울이 자살생각에 미치는 영향에서 영성의 매개효과

Mediation effect of spirituality on the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation: Focusing on Christianity spirituality

본 연구는 우울이 자살생각에 미치는 영향에서 영성의 매개효과를 확인하고자 하 였다. 본 연구에 사용된 영성은 그리스도교 영성이며 삼성산 청소년 수련관에서 개 최되는 피정에 참여한 천주교신자)28명을 대상으로 우울, 영성, 자살생각 척도를 설문하여 상관분석과 Baron과 Kenny(1986)가 제안한 회귀분석으로 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 우울과 자살생각은 정적으로 유의한 관계로 나타났다. 우울은 영성(전체) 및 영성의 하위변인인 삶의 의미와 목적, 내적통합성, 상호관계 성, 초월성은 부적으로 유의미한 결과로 나타났다. 자살생각은 영성(전체) 및 영성 의 하위변인들(초월성 제외)과 부적으로 유의미한 관계로 나타났다. 둘째, 우울이 자살생각에 미치는 영성의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 영성은 우울과 자살생각의 관 계에서 부분 매개 효과를 보였다. 이는 우울수준이 높은 사람들에게서 자살생각을 줄이기 위해서는 영성의 수준을 높이는 것이 중요하다는 것을 의미하고 있다. 마지 막으로, 이 연구는 영성의 수준을 높이기 위한 유용한 방법으로서 진정한 영성체험 (혹은 영적체험) 방안을 제시하였다.

The study aims to identify the mediating effects of spirituality on the relationship between depression and suicidal ideation. The spirituality in this study represents the Christian spirituality.)28 Catholics at Samsungsan Retreat Centre were surveyed. The correlation analysis as well as the regression analysis suggested by Baron and Kenny were used. Firstly, depression and suicidal ideation were significantly positive. The correlation between depression and spirituality as well as its sub factors such as, purpose and meaning in life, innerness, interconnectedness and transcendence were significantly negative. The analysis verified a significantly negative correlation between suicidal ideation and spirituality and its entire sub factors (except transcendence). Secondly, a partial mediation effect of spirituality was found between depression and suicidal ideation. Thus, enhancing the level of spirituality is critical in decreasing suicidal ideation. The study concludes with suggesting a true spiritual experience to improve the level of spirituality.
