기독교인 대학생이 지각한 부모양육태도와 자아분화 그리고 자아존중감 간의 관계

A study on the relationship between parenting attitude styles, the perceived self-differentiation, and self-esteem of Christian college students

본 연구의 목적은 기독교인 대학생이 지각한 부모양육태도와 자아분화 그리고 자아존중감의 간의 관계를 살펴보는 데 있다. 자료수집을 위해 서울과 경기지역 4년제 대학교 3곳에 재학 중인 기독교인 대학생 296명(남 115명, 여 181명)을 대상으로 하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료에 대한 결과 산출을 위해 상관분석, 변량분석, 중다회귀분석을 시행하였다. 연구 결과로는 첫째, 부모의 양육태도가 자아분화에 미치는 영향에 있어서, 부모의 과보호요인이 높아질수록 자녀가 건강하게 분화하고 독립하는 것에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 부모양육태도는 대학생 자녀가 지각한 자아존중감에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났는데, 돌봄요인이 높아질수록 자아분화 수준과 자아존중감이 높아지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론적으로 본 연구의 결과는 부모로부터 심리적 독립의 문제를 경험하고 있는 성인 초기 내담자들을 대상으로 한 상담전략 수립과 사례개념화에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. 또한 본 연구는 교회에서 적용될 수 있는 부모교육 또는 상담 프로그램을 개발하는 데 있어 추가적인 지식을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between parenting attitude styles, the perceived self-differentiation, and self-esteem of Christian college students. For this study, 296 of Christian students (115 males and 181 females) from 3 universities in Seoul and Gyeonggi area were surveyed. The data were analyzed by correlation analysis, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows: First, overprotective parents have a negative impact on their children s healthy differentiation, independence, and self-esteem. Second, parenting styles were also shown to affect the perceived self-esteem. The students with high-care type parents showed higher self-differentiation and selfesteem. In conclusion, the results from this research could be applied to the case conceptualization and the establishment of counseling strategies for young adult clients who are experiencing problems with psychological independence from their parents. Also, this study could provide additional knowledge for the development of parenting education or counseling program for parents in churches.
