This present study is to examine how internet addiction is related to five factors of psych-social trait: self-control, self-respect, self-efficacy, interpersonal self-efficacy, and loneliness among college students in Korea. The data was collected from 1,349 Korean college students. The samples are divided into three subgroups according to the seriousness of addiction: group A, general users; group B, general users; and users at risk. In terms of comparisons of internet addiction according to demographical variables, findings reveal that female students report significantly higher internet addiction than male counterparts. No significant difference on internet addiction is found among different grade of students. It is reported from correlation analysis of internet addiction and psycho-social trait that all five areas of psycho-social trait are significantly correlatedto internet addiction. In other words, self-control and self-respect are negatively correlated to internet addiction, and it is shown that self-efficacy, interpersonal self-efficacy and loneliness are positively correlated to internet addiction. Regression analysis indicates that five areas of psycho-social trait are explained 23.7% of internet addiction and this is statistically significant.
