A Study on Correlation of The Parent Bonding Instrument Interpersonal Problem due to Parent-adolescent Communication and The God s Image of Freshmen in Christian University

The purpose of this study was to verify interpersonal problem types that christian university students have expressed, to use as the groundwork to understand the relation between parent and adolescent and to figure out the correlation between the realized parent bonding instrument and parent-adolescent communication. In addition, it was to figure out the correlation between the procedure of shaping of the image of the God and the result of the noticed parent bonding instrument and parent-adolescent communication. For this purpose, this study was preceded by referring previous studies on the correlation on parent bonding instrument, parent-adolescent communication types, interpersonal problem types and the God’s images and surveying. The researcher surveyed 700 freshmen in H University located in P city with the questionnaire consist with questions on parent bonding instrument, questions on parent-adolescent communication, questions on interpersonal problem types and questions on the God’s images. The summarization of survey can be described as follows. In the noticed parent bonding instrument, the student group that was belong to Love section - generous and acceptable - and Autonomy section - self-decision and self-independence - intended to communicate with parents through positive ways and the student group that was belong to indifference section - ungenerous and indifference - and over-control section - over-interference in private life - intended to communicate with parents through negative ways. First, the survey showed that Love and Autonomy sections have a strong correlation with Vindictive, Cold, Socially avoidant, Nonassertive in interpersonal problem types. Meanwhile, it showed Love section has a positive correlation with Exploitable as well as Overly nurturant and Autonomy section has a positive correlation with Domineering. This described the student group that is belongs to each two sections are well-managed, well-socialized, cooperated and stable in mind. Especially, the student group who is belongs to Autonomy section intended to clarify others their own opinion or faith due to Domineering. Second, it showed indifference and over-control sections have a strong correlation with Vindictive, Cold, Socially avoidant, Nonassertive. Also indifference section has a positive correlation with Explitable, Overly nurturant, Intrusive. The student group that is belongs to each two sections intended to handle the problems difficultly and cause more conflict. It indicates indifference may cause more problems than over-control section, and showing concern is the most important factor in parent-adolescent relationship.. Third, it showed that Love and Autonomy sections have a strong correlation with Presence, Acceptance, and Influence in the God’s images. Especially, Autonomy section has a positive correlation with Challenge, Benevolence, and Providence as well. It indicates that the autonomous environment in the family have effected building up the God’s images. Fourth, it showed that Indifference section has a negative correlation with Presence, Acceptance and Influence in the God’s images and Over-control section has no correlation with the God’s images. It indicates that the student group in these two sections has no experience on acceptance and influence of the fact that God exists for them. It seems to affect on building up negative images of God.
