Religious experience and regression in perspective of self psychology

The statistics shows that almost 70% of Korean Christians are women. Most of scholars including Willam James say that Christian spirituality could help believers come out from various kinds of neurotic illness, especially melancholia or depression But I doubt that Is it true that Christian spirituality could save the person who are suffering from neurotic symptoms? In contrary, I think Christian religious experience could bring some religious regression to some Christians. To prove my opinion I used Heinz Kohut s Narcissistic tendency in Korean Christians. I also believe Korean men could show religious regression by religious experience. However, I concentrate on Korean women s symptoms of narcissistic tendency which bring religious regression in this paper.
