특수학교 자유학년제의 편성 운영에 대한 중등특수교사의 인식

An Analysis of Secondary Special Education Teachers’ Perception on the Curriculum Organization and Management of the Free School Year System in Special Schools: Focusing on Busan City

연구목적: 본 연구는 특수학교 자유학년제 교육과정 편성·운영 실태를 파악하고, 자유학년제 교육과정 편성·운영에 대한 중등특수교사의 인식을 조사데 그 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 연구대상은 부산지역 소재 12개 특수학교를 대상으로 자유학년제 교육과정 편성·운영 실태를 파악하였고, 특수학교에 근무하고 있는 중등특수교사 89명을 대상으로 자유학년제 교육과정 편성·운영에 대한 인식을 알아보기 위하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 부산지역 소재 특수학교는 주로 2학년을 자유학년제로 운영하고 있었고, 교과와 창의적 체험활동의 시수를 감축하여 자유학년제를 운영하고 있었다. 그리고 특수학교에서 운영되고 있는 자유학년제 교육과정에 대한 인식은 모든 항목에서 보통 이상의 수준을 나타내었다. 둘째, 특수학교 자유학년제 교육과정 편성·운영에 대한 이해도는 교육경력, 자유학기(년)제, 연수이수경험, 자유학년제 운영경험에 따라 차이가 나타났다. 논의 및 결론: 본 연구를 바탕으로 특수학교 자유학년제 교육과정 편성·운영에 대한 기반을 마련하고 학교현장에서 자유학년제를 운영할 때 필요한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the curriculum organization and management of the free school year system on special schools and secondary special education teachers’ perception on these. Method: School education plans of 12 special schools located in B city were collected for the analysis of the current curriculum organization and management of the free school year system. Also, 89 secondary special education teachers were surveyed to investigate the perception of the curriculum organization and management of the free school year system. Results: First, most of the special education schools located in Busan were operating the free school year system for grade 8 students in 2021 by reducing the class hours for regular curriculum and creative activities. The teachers’ perception of the organization and operation of the free school year curriculum at their special education schools was above average in all categories. Second, understanding of the organization and operation of the free school year system in special education schools between the teachers showed a significant difference according to their experience in teaching, training on the free school semester (year) system, and operating the free school year system. Conclusion: The results of this study were expected to provide the foundation for the organization and operation of the free school year system in special education schools and to offer basic data required to operate the system on the ground.
