청각장애유아 청인어머니의 책읽기 기법 특성 연구

A Longitudinal Study on the Book-Reading Technique Characteristics of Hearing Mothers of Hearing Impaired Children

본 연구는 청각장애유아의 청인어머니가 자녀와 함께 책을 읽을 때 사용하는 책읽기 기법 특성이 어떠한지 그 변화를 종단적으로 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 인공와우이식수술을 한 지 30개월 이상인 만4세~만6세의 청각장애유아와 그들의 청인어머니 4쌍이었으며, 1차 평가는 평균연령 4세 7개월(53개월~65개월)에 시작하여 1년 후 2차 평가를 수행하였다. 청각장애유아 청인어머니의 책읽기 상호작용의 모든 과정을 녹화 및 전사하여 총6가지 범주(43개 하위 기법)를 준거로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청각장애유아 4명의 청인어머니는 책을 읽을 때 6가지 범주의 40개 기법을 활용하여 자녀와 상호작용하는 모습을 보였다. 1차시기와 2차시기 모두 격려 및 참여촉진과 그림 및 텍스트 상호작용 기법을 더 많이 사용하였으며, 개념연결과 수정을 더 적게 사용하였다. 둘째, 4쌍의 청각장애유아 청인어머니들의 책읽기 기법 사례를 통해 언어연령과 초기문해능력에 따라 청인어머니들이 자녀 특성에 맞춰 책읽기 기법을 변화하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 청각장애유아에게 이른 시기부터 지속적으로 함께 책을 읽는 것이 중요하고 즉각적 기법 이외도 비즉각적 기법을 활용할 수 있도록 부모교육이 필요함을 확인하였으며, 청각장애유아와 청인어머니의 책읽기 상호작용에서 나타날 수 있는 전반적인 책읽기 기법의 분석 기준의 기초를 마련하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the longitudinal changes in the characteristics of the book-reading technique used by hearing mothers of hearing impaired children. The subjects of the study were 4 pairs of their hearing mothers of hearing impaired children aged 4 to 6 years. The research results are as follows. First, the hearing mothers of four hearing impaired children showed interaction with their children using various techniques when reading books. In both primary and secondary periods, mothers used more encouragement and engagement facilitation and picture and text interaction techniques. But they used less conceptual connection and correction. Second, it was found that hearing mothers of hearing impaired children changed their reading interaction skills according to children’ language age and early literacy ability. This study confirmed that it is important for hearing impaired children to read books with their parents from an early age. And we also found that parental education on book-reading techniques is necessary. When parents of hearing impaired children read books, they should use non-immediate techniques other than immediate techniques.
