코로나19 팬데믹 시대 저소득 취약·위기가족의 생활 경험에 관한 질적 연구

A Qualitative Study on the Daily Life Experience of Low Income Vulnerable/in-Crisis Families during the COVID-19 Pandemic

본 연구는 코로나19 팬데믹 시대 저소득 취약⋅위기가족의 생활 경험을 내부자 관점에서 심층적으로 탐색하는데 목적이 있다. 연구참여자는 한부모, 조손, 양부모, 장애 가족을 포함하는 저소득 취약⋅위기가족 9가족 내 성인 1명씩, 총 9명을 선정하였다. 심층 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였고, Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과 8개의 구성요소, 24개의 하위 구성요소, 120개의 의미 단위로 분석되었고, 최종 도출된 구성요소는 ‘전대미문현상을 맞닥뜨림’. ‘일상생활에 닥친 가시밭 고통’, ‘생존 명분에 방치된 아동, 청소년의 삶’, ‘가족 내 무너진 경계선’, ‘사회적 연대감 균열’, ‘삶을 향한 호흡기 덧대기’, ‘가족가치 회복’, ‘자기애 발견과 희망 날개 펼치기’였다. 핵심적 본질은 험난한 과정 속에서도 자기애 발견과 긍정적 희망을 향한 여정으로 규명했다. 연구결과에 기반해 코로나19 팬데믹 시대 저소득 취약⋅위기가족의 생활 경험을 이해할 수 있는 기초자료를 제시하였고, 학술적⋅실천적 논의와 제언을 하였다.

Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate in depth the daily life experiences of low income vulnerable/in-crisis families during the COVID-19 pandemic from an insider perspective. Methods: Nine low income, vulnerable/in crisis adults from single parent, grandparent, both parents and parent with physically disabled family members were selected. In-depth interviews were performed followed by analysis using the Giorgi s phenomenological methods. Results: The results of the analysis consisted of 8 components, 24 subcomponents, and 120 semantic units. The final components were “facing an unprecedented event”, “Imminent thorny pain in daily life”, “children and adolescents neglected under the pretext of survival”, “breakdown of boundaries within the family”, “breach in the social sense of solidarity”, “daily life on a ventilator”, “recovery of family values”, and “spreading the wings of hope after discovering self-love”. Conclusion: The essence of the daily life experiences was scrutinized as a journey toward the discovery of self-love and positive hope. Based on the results, the baseline data for understanding the daily life experiences of low income vulnerable/in-crisis families has been presented with academic and practical discussions and suggestions.
