국내 외국인주민이 수행한 다문화가정 연구의 주제범위 문헌고찰

A Scoping Review on Multicultural Family-focused Research Undertaken by the Foreign-resident Academics in South Korea

본 연구는 국내 다문화 논제의 당사자인 외국인주민이 학문적으로 행한 다문화가정 연구의 문헌 조사에 목적을 뒀다. 그간 내국인 학자의 다문화에 관한 연구는 다양하고 문헌도 풍부했으나, 정작 결혼이민자, 혼인귀화자, 유학생 등이 소개한 학술 논문에 대한 관찰은 사각지대였다. 이에, 본 연구는 국내 학계의 외국인주민이 수행한 다문화가정 연구의 배경적 특성과 학문적 경향은 어떠한가? 라는 질문으로 선행 논문의 개요와 양상을 조명하는 주제범위 문헌고찰을 했다. 본 연구는 한국학술지인용색인(KCI) 인문·사회·예술·복합분야 등재지에 2006년~2021년 9월 다문화가정을 주제로 수록된 2,324편에서 중국, 일본, 베트남, 몽골 등 6개국 출신 외국인주민이 게재한 논문 65편을 10가지 속성에 걸쳐 분석했다. 그 결과, 2010년 KCI에 첫 간행된 다문화가정 연구는 2017년부터 쌓인 가운데, 저자의 대다수는 중국 출신에, 연구 지역은 수도권과 충청권, 전공 분야는 교육·사회가 많았다. 또한, 지난 10여 년간 연구 배경은 가정과 학교, 연구 관심은 적응과 교육이 대세이며, 현상 탐구에 목적을 둔 인터뷰에 의한 질적 연구나 설문을 통한 정량 연구에 크게 의존했다. 본 고찰은 다문화의 중심에 있는 외국인주민의 유관 논문을 10개 항목에 걸친 배경적 특성, 학술적 경향에 따라 조사한 의의가 있으며, 동 연구가 밝힌 지식의 간극은 국내 학계의 다문화 현상에 관련된 과제 발굴에 큰 보탬이 될 것이다.

This scoping review looked into the academic papers on multicultural family (MF) that foreign residents in Korea have published for the last decade. Many Korean scholars have released numerous MF-related articles; however, the literature on Korean MFs from married immigrants, naturalized citizens, and international students, has been barely concerned. This study aimed to answer the question: What are the characteristics and trends of multicultural family-focused research by Korean foreign-resident academics? Of 2,324 Social sciences/Arts/Interdisciplinary MF papers listed in Korea Citation Index (KCI) since 2006, it explored ten research contexts and academic views on 65 articles published by the foreign residents from six Asian countries. Results show that while the first MF work appeared in 2010, their literature has accumulated since 2017. The majority of the authors were from China. Studying pedagogy and sociology, the writers mostly belonged to the higher education bodies, dominantly in the capital area and Chungcheong. Key research interests family, education, and social adaptation. In methodology, they primarily relied on exploratory studies by interviews and surveys. Categorizing research evidence from the KCI papers of the foreign residents, this scoping review on ten characteristics and trends will contribute to exploring potential topics on multicultural phenomena in Korea.
