여자청소년의 대인 성적 대상화 경험과 우울의 관계에서 외모에 대한 사회문화적 가치 내면화와 신체감시의 매개효과

The Mediation Effect of Internalization and Body Surveillance in the Relationship Between Sexual Objectification Experiences and Depression in Female Teenagers

본 연구의 목적은 대인 성적 대상화 경험이 우울에 미치는 영향에서 외모에 대한 사회문화적 가치 내면화와 신체감시의 매개효과를 살펴보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 부산광역시, 경상남도에 소재하는 중, 고등학교에 재학 중인 여자청소년을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였고 총 347명의 자료를 SPSS 21.0과 Mplus 8.2 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구 결과 성적 대상화 경험이 외모에 대한 사회문화적 가치 내면화를 거쳐 우울에 미치는 간접효과가 유의하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대인관계에서 성적 대상화 경험이 신체감시를 통해 우울에 간접적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대인관계에서의 성적 대상화 경험은 외모에 대한 사회문화적 내면화와 신체감시를 매개로 우울에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구가 갖는 의의와 한계점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the internalization of sociocultural values on appearance and the mediating effect of physical surveillance in the influence of interpersonal sexual objectification experience on depression. To this end, a survey was conducted on female adolescents enrolled in middle and high schools located in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do, and a total of 347 data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and Mplus 8.2 programs. First, as a result of the study, it was found that the indirect effect of sexual objectification experience on depression through internalization of sociocultural attitudes towards appearance was not significant. Second, it was found that interpersonal sexual objectification in interpersonal relationships indirectly affects depression through physical monitoring. Third, it was found that interpersonal sexual objectification in interpersonal relationships had a positive effect on depression through sociocultural internalization and physical monitoring of appearance. Based on these results, the significance and limitations of this study and suggestions for subsequent studies were discussed.
