성폭력 피해 지적장애인 여성 자녀를 둔 부모 체험에 관한 연구

A Study on the Experiences of Parents of Women with Intellectual Disabilities Who are Sexually Victimized

본 연구는 성폭력 피해 지적장애인 여성 자녀를 돌보는 부모 체험에 대한 본질적 의미를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 성인기의 지적장애인 여성 및 그들 부모를 위한 장애인복지 실천현장에 유용한 시사점을 도출하고 개입 방안을 제언하는데 이 연구의 목적을 두었다. 연구 참여자는 성폭력 피해 지적장애인 여성의 부모 8명이 참여하였고, 면담내용 분석은 Giorgi의 현상학적 방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 9개의 현상학적인 본질적 주제로 구성하였다. 여기에는 ‘인면수심의 가해자’, ‘불타오르는 분노심’, ‘막다른 절망감’, ‘제대로 된 진술이 어려운 딸’,‘온 기족이 감당해야 할 고통의 몫’, ‘나를 책망하기’, ‘버팀목’, ‘구심력의 발휘’, ‘회복력의 발휘’가 포함되었다. 이를 토대로 본 연구에서는 첫째, 연구참여자들이 자녀의 성폭력 피해 경험 속에서 상당한 분노심, 절망감과 같은 대리적 외상 경험을 하는 것과 둘째, 자녀의 성폭력 피해에 대한 심리적 유예감을 드러내고 있다는 것, 셋째, 자녀의 성폭력 피해라는 엄청난 위기경험 속에서도 긍정성과 희망을 찾는 회복력을 발휘하고 있다는 것, 넷째, 가족 및 사회적 지지체계의 중요성이란 시사점을 도출하였다. 그리고 이러한 시사점을 토대로 장애인복지 실천 현장에서 활용할 수 있는 개입 방안을 제언하였다.

This study analyzed the essential meanings of experiences of the parents who look after sexually victimized women with intellectual disabilities. The purpose of this study is to derive useful implications and propose intervention plans for welfare practice for the intellectually disabled female adults and their parents. Eight parents of women with intellectual disabilities who are sexually victimized participated in the study, and interviews were analyzed using Giorgi s phenomenological method. Based on the analysis, nine phenomenological essential themes were consisted, which included ‘assailant in human form with a mind of a beast’, ‘burning rage’, ‘dead-end of despair’, ‘daughter with difficulty in making a well-formed statement’, ‘pain borne by the entire family’, ‘reproaching myself’, ‘being a rock’, ‘exhibiting centripetal force’, and ‘showing resilience’. Based on the above, the following implications were derived: 1) study participants experienced surrogate trauma such as tremendous anger and despair from their children’s sexual violence experience, 2) they show psychological procrastination regarding sexual violence experienced by their children, 3) they show resilience in finding positive aspects and hope even during the significant crisis of their children’s sexual violence experience, 4) the importance of family and social support system. Based on these discussions, the study suggests the intervention plans that can be utilized in the field of welfare practice for the disabled.
