여성 성소수자의 교회 경험에 관한 연구

A Qualitative Study on Sexual Minority Women’s Experience of Church

본 연구는 여성 성소수자들 중 개신교 교회에 출석하고 있는 여성들을 대상으로 질적 연구를 통해 그들이 교회에서 어떠한 경험을 하고 있는지 이해하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 눈덩이 표집을 통해 개신교 신앙을 가지고 있는 6명의 여성 성소수자를 대상으로 심층 면접을 진행하였으며, 주제어분석 방법으로 분석하였다. 여성 성소수자들의 교회와 관련된 경험을 분석한 결과 총 5개의 범주와 11개의 주제가 도출되었다. 도출된 5개의 범주는 ‘정체화’, ‘교회와 성소수자’, ‘대응’, ‘신앙’, ‘여성×성소수자’ 이다. 극우 개신교 측이 반동성애 활동을 활발히 펼쳐가는 가운데 개신교 신앙을 가진 여성 성소수자들은 자신을 감추거나 드러내는 각자의 방식으로 대응하며 자신들의 존재와 위치성을 확인하고, 넓혀가고 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 여성 성소수자에 대한 논의와 제언을 제시하였다. 개신교 신앙을 가진 여성 성소수자의 교회와 그 안에서의 자기 경험 및 대응이 성소수자를 이해하고, 평등한 사회를 만들어가는 데 도움이 되기를 바란다.

The purpose of this qualitative study is to understand the experience of sexual minority christian women. To achieve this, six christian women of sexual minority were recruited and interviewed. The collected data was analyzed keyword analysis method. The results show that the experience of sexual minority women of Christian fall into 5 categories and 11 key words. 5 categories include of ‘Identification’, ‘Church and Sexsual Minority’, ‘Response’, ‘Faith’, and ‘Woman x Sexual Minority’. Sexual minority christian women have recognized who they are and where they are and enlarge them in various ways that express them or hide them, while the far right christian extremist groups develop anti-LGBTQIA+ campaign. Based on these findings, this study suggested discussion and proposal on sexual minority women. This study exptected that the experiences and reponses of sexual minority christian women contribute to understand sexual minority and make more egalitarian society.
